Goodbye Kitty
I stood there
Watching you start dinner
In your kitchen

I had the premonition

Preparing food

Liar
In my kitchen of emotions
and thoughts
I will mix one part truth serum
with three parts sugar
If I heat them up to the right temperature
It will dissolve the bitter
They should marry into a sweet flavor
Of obtuse honesty to savor
I have tried offering straight pieces of kale,
cinnamon, cranberries or brussel sprouts
But no one can eat these straight
And their mouths shrivel up and make them pout
As a gourmet chef i create something tasty
For the palette to enjoy and linger
And scrape the bottom of the...

I Miss that Annoying Bitch
Hounding me at least five times a day
"Do you love me?"
Wanting me to answer in the affirmative.
By the sixth or seventh time I have to say it with anger
YES!!
God dammit!!
And I resume what I was doing
Only to be distracted one more time
For affection
and kisses
and hugs
and getting you water
and getting up again for chocolate.
I can't do this anymore! Where is my time?
Where do I get my sense of self?
I want my creativity to flourish and be supported!
Encouraged!
But not until I get you a cup a tea. ...

I know its been hard. Maybe harder than I expected.
But part of me felt it was necessary.
Because I do love you.
I want you to grow.
Maybe its selfish of me to feel like it has to happen.
Or want it to happen.
That I want to see you aspire to an intelligent, professional and beautifully confident woman.
Maybe thats too fatherly as well.
But I selfishly want that.
So sometimes I want you to find the inspiration in yourself
to examine your insecurities and turn them into strengths.
To bring out your social prowess...

By the Hair Of Your Ass
You find ways to misinterpret all of my words
As mean and uncaring
Disinterested, unloving
Passive and distant
When you never reconsider
That they are your words
Your petty insecurities
Held on by a single hair of fear
That is appears like the thickest rope
Complaining that life stinks
And full of shit
As everyone dumps their mishaps all over you
So you never have a fighting chance
But if you opened your eyes
You would find
That you are just shitting on yourself
Each time you pull your own hair ...

Breaking the Sphere of Comfort
The fish swims in its small, glass bowl
Where everything is clear
Chasing the tail of the other fish on the other side
To stop itself from swimming in circles
Periodically
Nibbling from food that falls from above
Over the course of time
It's a fun game
Until you get bloated on repetition
The same food.
In the midst of troubleshooting a way out
In a circular world
Getting out means breaking the glass
Risk making a mess
And letting the water flow everywhere
Unbridled, unbiased
While I flop around gasping...
Where everything is clear

Rolling smooth to the stream
of the current
Static cling to the next
seemingly relevant point
An exploration, really...
Trying to get beyond this
superficial layer of paper-thin happiness
Pounding the black squares
To penetrate the letters with my fingertips
To force the matter out and splatter a digital screen
Through key strokes and finger manipulation
I hope the depth transcend to a dreamy reality
Cloud-like in its tangibility.
Ideal in its execution.
Earth shaking in its revolution.

Is that a storm in the distance or is that just me?
The birds chirping are muted by the vrooms
This usual morning
Neighbors too far away to say howdy
I don't even know their names
As they hop in their four-wheeled bubble
Off to some idea of satisfaction and contentment
A socially responsible thing to do
And I watch
From my dusty barn
Taking the last few puffs of my cigarette
Before doing my own thing
Not caring about the lives of these small towners
While my thoughts drown the audible ambiance
About my place here
This town, this stage of my life
Whether this is my destiny or just...

Where is now?
It has come over me
A soft, dark warmth
Rubbing my shoulders
In a soggy mixture of love and disparity
Showing me tenderness
Showing me practicality of basic living
Showing me the Saturnalia of a life
that grieves for no one's death
Mourning over my past
While being suffocated by the future
There is no room for the present
Which was squeezed out of consciousness long ago
When the Gods had split from their union
And keeping the trust with them
So no one can overcome their insecurities
And leaving a path of blood and...
