Things missed
The spontaneity that once was
When people called you out of the blue
When you were feeling rather blue
Just to disrupt your engines
When the skin we were living in
Wasn't as thin as the skin you're in
We'd say fun stuff like give me some skin
Didn't have to self censor things
Just to fit in
And walk on eggshells
or check in with our parole officers
at the appropriate police
people were becoming lawyers
Rigid thinkers, uptight, wound up
Overflowing with silly concerns
And lofty words
Yet if...
When people called you out of the blue

Lost Journal
I think I lost my moleskin journal
On the brown line this morning
It wasn’t yet completed
half of 2017 and a bit of 2018 in its pages
I wrote a goofy message as the reward:
$5 plus Taco Bell coupons
I ran out of them
What if someone claims the reward?
What if they read through it
That will be awkward when we meet face to face
I wonder if some man-hater has it now
Or an identity thief?
It’s filled with secret plans and notes,
Details about my arch enemies
And plans for weapons I was planning to create ...

Letter to poets from stranger places
This one goes out to those
crazy radicals, and those lazy in bed
days off you decided to bring your A game
after a night of Netflix and that inexpensive bottle of red
the way you write, the ink that bleeds
life on paper, the better parts and the
fleeting nanoseconds we have in
detailing our wayward thoughts
You have an obligation
to take focus off of yourself
because your self pity partying
is only beautiful to you, and you alone
we need to channel the ennui
in a spin of light and weavers of those ...

This Quiet Life
In a world
vying for attention
and cold, loveless affection
I like leading life in a tranquil way
bereft of constant buzzing noises
a cacophony of chaos
that tries to steal precious moments
of my day to day
how can I live life
when I’m not?
how do I enjoy peace
when I am boy, interrupted
I refuse shackles of the sheep
and the low/high tech slaves
or to inherit your sense of worth
it is worthless
I do not need your followers
the lotus eaters that live in hamster wheels ...

looking like Tyler Durden's girlfriend, Marla
stuffing panties and socks in your knock off Gucci purse
made in China
The security guards caught it too
they rewind the camera footage
aha moment, you did it!
thanking God it's a sexy urban chicka
You disappear, I followed from a distance
wondering if you're still single
or if you have a tinder profile
and can I ask you out for dinner?
You easily consented, if only to ditch me
security is scouring the store, talking to eachother ...

in this sea of things
deserted islands full of forgotten dreams
you intentionally forgotten
Do you remember? The places within
where you had your first kiss
where you bruised your knees
where you won/lost/cried/laughed
or played outdoors under naked sky, rains
Talk about those moments you invested
a day at the beach with your dad
a walk in the park with moms
or the park bench you read the first chapter of some mediocre book
