I need a new outlet
I need a new outfit
Cuz I'm burning out
And soon I'll be naked
My clothes are burning off.
But when these flames burn off my skin,
You’ll see my heart
So I'll think twice about it

We were meant to be loved
Not to be alone
We weren't meant to have this much
electricity in our bones
Wires in our veins
The pain.
The pain of letting go
Because your eyes were closed
Too long
And before you had nothing
But that was gold
In your palms

DARK POEM

Ceiling
I turn the music on
And the lights off
I try to write a poem
My ink lights up on the wall
Finally silence in my brain
I take moments away
To remove the ceiling and dive into the ocean above
Wind replaces the fan
Leaves fall on my bed
Some flowing down in and out of streams of moonlight
Before they finally hit the floor
The dots in the sky then connect back into a cage
There's no longer laugh lines on my eyes
Just wrinkles on my face
The moonlight fades ...
And the lights off
I try to write a poem

Good Day
Though I stayed home
With just music and the air on
It was a good day
Clear skies like I wanted
Birds coming and going
The afternoon breeze keeping the window open
My job isn't the best
And the wind may blow through my jacket
I don’t know my results yet
But the world's bad enough to be upset
I'm still learning about myself
Forgetting past mistakes
Accepting who I am
Taking exits before It's too late
I still have challenges to face ...

Against the wall
Crying
Below my knees
No one can hear me
Countless tears crash into the ground
But no one feels the ground shake
They're too far away
Screaming so loud
Looking at red seas in my reflection
My hands. my tears cover my face..
I walk back in the crowd
After the door opens
No one will ever know what happened

Not chosen
On the sidelines
Broken
Kicked out of the game
Standing outside the circle
Not good enough
Standing on my toes
Not tall enough to see over their heads
I should be an artist
Painted a smile on my face
And no one even noticed
I'm in so much pain
Piano plays
Through these earphones
Pacing in a maze
From these sad songs
You ignored my message
Having to find the exit
On my own
I thought we had a connection
But the truth is
I'm alone ...

Hotel
(Trying to be quiet
While everyone sleeps
In the midst of twilight)
Getting out of bed
To have some time to myself
To get a last peak at this soon to be nostalgic view
Wondering where all these motorists are going
So early in the morning
Wondering am I doing this because I'm lonely?
Giving myself five more minutes
Since we all gotta get up soon
Window drips
And morning dew
