You are the person I was when I was ten
You say how you feel with no reservations
treading delicately,
feeling out your ocean and jumping in
when it's not too cold

        I shiver when I listen now
Wanting to meet you there
Believing that the warmth of the sun
and your steady gaze can keep me from drifting  

Bracing myself for the shock
Running towards the waves
with no trepidation
Emerging myself in water
Only to come up when absolutely necessary and
I let my feet carry me there
