POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
“You write your first draft with your heart. And you rewrite with your head..; the first key to writing, is…to write; not to think.” - William Forrester, Finding Forrester
Speed
A worldwide
Conspiracy
To advertise,
For little less
Than I see
With my eyes;
Hustle
And bustle
And shove;
But for me,
I’ll hopefully,
Walk at the speed of
Love.

Walk at the speed of

Momentous
It is a thing of art
To be so entwined,
Drowning intently
In the pools of her eyes,
Deeper than the depths
Of wonder between her thighs;
Breath commingled
In erratic reverberation,
Wordless convulsion
Within the arena of Eros,
Beautiful
And all too brief;
Her ragged smile lit
By her starry gaze,
Arms uncertain
Of their preferred place,
Silky breasts buoyant,
Their perky promenade,
And perspiration
Glistening
Down her midriff canvas
As scattered crystals ...
To be so entwined,
Drowning intently
In the pools of her eyes,
Deeper than the depths
Of wonder between her thighs;
Breath commingled
In erratic reverberation,
Wordless convulsion
Within the arena of Eros,
Beautiful
And all too brief;
Her ragged smile lit

Their perky promenade,
And perspiration
Glistening
Down her midriff canvas
As scattered crystals ...

Voices
There are
Voices I miss:
Sir Christopher Lee;
Sean Connery;
Paul Harvey;
Anthony Bourdain;
and
James Earl Jones;
Voices grander than
This meager span,
And yet whispered
“You’re not alone”

Years
I have been here for years;
Bid farewell dreams,
And dried up old tears,
And even now it seems
Each breath drawn
Goes with another step,
For I must carry on
With only what is left.
Bid farewell dreams,
And dried up old tears,
And even now it seems
Each breath drawn
Goes with another step,
For I must carry on
With only what is left.

Naught
I never dreamed,
In my very
Darkest thought,
There would come
A day that was,
Where you
Were not.
In my very
Darkest thought,
There would come
A day that was,
Where you
Were not.

Gems
My nieces
Are star-cut gems;
My nephew,
The very stature
Of worth;
My own children;
Half-drunken dreams,
That shall know
No birth.

Half-drunken dreams,

After El
After El,
I spent
Years
Desperately drunk,
Begging heaven
For just
A moment more.
It never came.
But my knock
Will never
Vacate
Heaven’s door.
I spent
Years
Desperately drunk,
Begging heaven
For just
A moment more.
It never came.
But my knock
Will never
Vacate
Heaven’s door.

Pardon
Pardon my lips,
Wandering as they will,
Heedless of cloth and cover;
And pardon my tongue,
It’s a dangerous gift,
A wicked and wanton lover

And pardon my tongue,
It’s a dangerous gift,
A wicked and wanton lover

Rain
September rains,
In the evening,
The clouds grey,
And grumbling,
The smell of earth,
And petrichor,
With memories
Of things before.
