Poet Introduction
Lately, find it interesting and, occasionally, enjoyable...
Annoyance
She didn't even try
- she didn't feel like it -
had no reason.
She mustered a moment of kindness:
"You look familiar, but I can't place you...",
she mumbled, attempting a smile that never fully formed.
The other jumped at the opening:
"The Primacy of Theory Collective, remember?"
She did, vaguely...
"Back in the time..."
the other went on...
She nodded...
"I'm John! John Spearing!"
the other added excitedly...
"Yes, of course... John... The primacy of theory... John Spearing..."
she...

Without Ifs
If I had a shield
If I had a door
If I had a mountain to climb
If I had the sky and a cloud
If I had a shore
If I had an out
If I had an if...

Icarus' Last Wish
When Icarus
- prudent Daedalus' restive son -
having flown too close to the sun,
was descending to an unfortunate but certain death,
his fast approaching demise did not even cross his mind...
Burning down through thin clouds
a single thought obsessed him:
Would he ever, and how,
get to fly again...

Useful Finger
And, in the end,
the crucial end,
the only end that matters,
the one that never comes
and, always, is there...
And, in the end
- the timeless and the endless -
the end finally stripped
of any and all finalities
(everything is a process, but what process?)...
And, in the end,
when the meek,
the screaming shitheads
and the all encompassing middle,
all invite you to their oblivion...
Give them the finger
and think the impossible...
