SAFE WAY OUT
Talking on a cell phone behind the wheel of a massive S.U.V.,
he nods at the guard while exiting the gated community
Roaring down the highway doing eighty feeling powerful and free,
with Trump and Pence on the bumper and the flag
"Don't Trend On Me ".
Circling the parking lot to get as close as he can be,
he goes inside perturbed and demanding a manager to see.
Their is a filthy Beggar with no legs sitting by the door,
who asked me for spare change as I came into your store.
Tell those "Bleeding Hearts " to stop giving...

The Look Upon Her Face
I was surfing through the channels when I came to P.B.S.,
who would have known it was to cause me such
Emotional Distress.
A true story of Ethnic Cleaning in a Country call Rwanda,
where were all the Protesters, where was Jane Fonda.
They had quickly changed the channel so they would not have to see,
that those who let it happen represented you and me.
I know that millions die each year from War, Hunger, and Disease,
I have seen the ads a thousand times, help us won't you Please.
So why I kept on...
who would have known it was to cause me such

Bah Humbuggery
A Hellfire missile hit the Stable and Inn,
obliterating the Three Wise Men.
A S.A.M. took out Santa in a no fly zone,
Frosty is now just a Large Snowcone.
The Grinch made a clean getaway,
Tiny Tim was killed by a runaway sleigh.
The little Match Girl struck her last,
joins the Ghost of Christmas Past.
On the 13th day my True Love gave me the clap,
maxed my credit card buying useless crap.
" Why not be Nice? ", " Why are you so Naughty? ",
" because the best gift I got was a Squatty Potty ".

Aquarius Flashback
All our yesterday's seem so near, and yet so far,
they flew by like a shooting star.
No longer in the springtime of our youth,
autumn now finds us long in the tooth.
Once turned on to the Hippie Nation,
now reminiscing to the Oldies Station.
Beatles, Stones, Dylan, and the Grateful Dead,
bell bottoms, tie-dye, purple haze, and Panama red.
Still hoisting my freak flag high,
excuse me while I kiss the sky.
Not ready for cat and quilt, rocking chair,
still dancing in the moonlight, warm night air.

Come Sail Away Far Beyond
Come sail away far beyond the Great Pacific Garbage Patch,
to where there is no uranium and mercury in the fish we catch.
No billions of pounds of plastic to kill a million seabirds each year,
the last gasps of hundreds of thousands of marine mammals we won't have to hear.
Come sail away in dreams when iron men in wooden ships sailed the seven seas,
far from the sick and dying oceans that are now the harsh reality.

The Adventures Of Cabbie Man
Life in the fast lane.
Where the rubber meets the road.
Picking up the widow who suddenly lost her mate of sixty one years,
once a week to place flowers, she dabs away her tears.
Young man bolts from the cab without paying running gleefully down the street,
changed him twice the fare when he came back for his cell phone left on the seat.
Blind man with his dying guide dog, we went racing to the vet,
the grief he expressed at his best friend passing, I never will forget.
Taking an aged Casanova to the E.R....

My Fair Lady Of Fibonacci
I see her in seeds and flowers, the birds and the bees,
shells along the shore and pine cones on branches in the trees.
My ears that hear her music played on piano keys,
Oh No, not the rabbits George reproducing exponentially.
The penguins waddling along, dolphins swimming playfully,
my hands that reach out to hold her she's never far from me.
In my youth her golden ratio / numbers had my mind
spiraling like the milky way galaxy, a hurricane swirling out at sea .

Want To Say Truth Is Just A Click Away
Warrant Officer Hugh Thompson, A True American Hero of mine,
with Andreotta and Colburn, dared to step over the line.
Senator sought his dishonorable termination,
suffered reprisals, threats, and intimidation,
for stopping more Abomination.
Survivors of My Lai want to say,
why did you murder our Loved Ones that day.
Colonel John Chiviington preached divine,
one of the most sadistic butchers in his time.
Granted amnesty, only condemnation,
for the slaughter of an Indian Nation,
nites make lice, ordered complete...

Frequency Modulation Metamorphosis
Born into an ultra-conservative right wing Christian family,
one evolved into a bleeding heart liberal Atheist anomaly.
All thing being equal how was it he turned out that way,
an old world band radio given to him by his Great Aunt Kay.
He had been listening to his Small Town a.m. station until that day,
when he tuned into underground f.m. from the San Francisco Bay.
From gospel hems on the Old Time Revival Hour,
to blues and rock on the King Biscuit Flower Hour.
A.m. Jimmy sang about Big John down in the mine,
f.m. Jimi sang...

Slow Sad Joyce She Had No Choice
The Eugenicist with a scalpel between her thighs,
the Psychiatrist with an ice pick behind her eyes.
They made her barren and blank,
the Powers That Be to thank.
Snake bit by the caduceus, crucified on a gammadion cross,
it's just Slow Sad Joyce no big loss.
Oh Lord, Oh Lord, what have they done to you,
here in the land of the Red White and Blue.
One, from the Greatest Generation, dying off into history,
far from the new reality, in the twenty first century.
Genetically modified human embryonic...

My Number One Poem. ....May Be Number Two.
Driving across the Rockies in winter he pulled over, really had to go,
shaking hands with Shorty he wrote his name in cursive on the snow.
No idea where this lousy poem is going, running out of words to rhyme, ,
about to make an even bigger fool out of myself, it's ending Just In Time.
