As an Australian poet, I think it was important to break that 'outback' stereotype. I can appreciate the outback poet, and to some extent eventually I would love to write bush ballads, but for now I want to continue to break that stereotype

Broken hearts
Violent screams
Pleasant pain
Nasty nice
Helpless drunk
FUCKING vain.
Empty bottle
Gone insane.
Finding peace
Endless task.
Expires lease
Rent due,
Another bottle?
FUCK you.
Headstrong man
Mindless child
Senile man
Foolish teen.
Blame youth
Hold tight
Squeeze hard
Dark night.
Sung songs
Wretched memories
Bring forth
Empty bottles
No more
