every direction
dropping deep
resurrection
spinning nonstop
feeling dizzy
constant motion
no remedy
no highs
without lows
closeness craved
always goes
inevitable
unique ride
two-person seat
side by side
trouble stirs
tiring times
exhaustion
fading lines
holding hands
pulling through
staying strong
to stay...
down

There's no end
to how far you can go

to how deep you can sink

to how much you can stray
You just get further
and further
away

when you can't look back

wolves leapt
from the record cover
straight into his dreams
to teach him not to trust
appearances

one of us

under her bed at night
striped socks sticking out
pulling back only when
she looked

maybe I'm the good witch
and you're
the evil one

DARK POEM

Dust
First, it's my fingertips.
I watch them turn white
then fall as ash to the ground.
The disease slowly but steadily
spreads to my hands and up my arms.
It's got my toes, too.
I don't notice, at first,
not until I find that I can't stand.
I look down and don't see feet,
but legs quickly dissolving
into piles of soft, powdery dust.
It's getting faster.
I have no arms or legs.
I start to panic as it hits me that
my body is being eaten away.
I'm sitting in a pile of dust.
I am dust.
Maybe that's...

Headache
it hurts worse than anything,
cycling constant
through my cursed head
and I hate it
throbbing
it has me sobbing
trying to remember to breathe
please make it stop
hours seem like days
of constant affliction
and I just want to know
why?
what's the point
when there's nothing I can do
to save my mind of the monster
called migraine?
ice packs, shoulder rubs,
holding my head like
a crazy person--
is it really that bad?
popping pain pills fast enough ...
cycling constant
through my cursed head
and I hate it
throbbing
it has me sobbing

Those Days
on those days
nothing exists
outside the pitiful prison
I call my room
it doesn't matter what plans are in store
or who comes knocking at the bolted door
I can't hear you through the locks and chains--
I am unreachable on those days
on those days
time is an illusion
playing with my throbbing mind
on those days
I'm filled with fatigue and drained of life
of feeling
of everything
I am useless and pathetic on those days
I'm don't know the cause
or why I'm fine one day ...

Falling Again
Falling again
After so much time
I finally felt okay
Safe at the top
But I'm falling again
Into the deep pit of grime
With its smooth walls of clay
And no way to stop
Please understand
It's not your fault that I fell
Maybe it's fate
I was too weak to hold on
Just hold out your hand
But don't follow me to hell
If it's too late
And I'm already too far gone
After so much time
I finally felt okay

Making no progress
Moving forward
Everybody's doing it,
Right?
It's expected
It's necessary
It's part of life
"What have you been up to?"
I hate that question.
They think I'm lazy
I'm asked about future plans,
Impossible goals, nonexistent dreams.
I think I'm crazy.
Whatever I try,
it makes no difference
My life's at a standstill
"It's just a tough time -
You're a little behind"
Oh, thanks. I couldn't tell.
Some say to get it together
Some say I can catch up
I feel like I never...
Everybody's doing it,
Right?
It's expected
