Mirror’s Many Ways
Consider the mirror’s many ways
reality fully in its sway
with impacts from good to bad
the spectrum ranges from glad to sad
first bending reality to the distress
of the viewers who damn the skin
the reminder of dysphoria
the opposite of gender euphoria
others see a compliment
the very best then dominant
that beauty in the beholder’s eye
reflection sharing a silvered reply
lastly the echo speaks of escape
possibilities beyond what’s displayed
dreams imagined with foresight
in the face of glassed...
reality fully in its sway

Rise Above
Bottoms are considered before the top
demanding proof as a result
to determine the whole of worth
when the truth resides above
the truest test springs from the mind
this is lost to the unkind
they believe identity
is based on upon what one sees
convention passes as verity
denying individuality
selfhood becomes the hidden fact
an understanding many lack
while the average works for most
a small percent will rise above
denying chains below the waist
when flying free to find the facts.

Soothsayer
Throw the bones to reveal
secrets cloaked by the rose
petals shed at the request
at fortune teller’s waned bequest
the path beyond may be obscured
when the fates are then demurred
claiming that knowledge holds
the many dangers of tainted gold
convictions of joy embraced
divination now common place
ask the supplicants of lost hopes
what the portents may yet disclose
perhaps the gods will explain
their domain is prophecy
by auspices of the soothsayer
a glimpse is seen beyond the prayers.

Introvert’s Craft
Ask the introvert about their art
of seeking distance from the crowd
this mastery that few can match
when recluses embrace their craft
the dangers of a populace
mixing closely without repent
are anathema to the few
that disregard the urge to fuse
they know the peril of company
the looming doom of maladies
evoked by those who gather round
the very seed of their downfall
this is avoided when the soil
is too rocky for tainted blooms
the introverts will survive
beyond those moments they will thrive.

Deepest Needs
The mistake is made my most
believing affection has encroached
upon the heart that may mistake
emotion trailing in its wake
the flush is seen prompted by
sources from the outside
those comely frames belying faith
that affection requires another face
beware confusion in these lies
the truth is seen if thoughts comply
to understanding the deepest needs
are for the self to feel esteemed
to be loved reigns in the brain
this desire then masquerades
as an impression that other folk
are adoration’s truest...

Wisdom Waits
In all the books in all the world
wisdom waits like shining pearls
with a value beyond compare
for those who take the dare
tomes sought for relevance
tempt the world to surely change
even though it’s the same
understanding is then to blame
expansion beyond the bounds
formerly set by frightened ones
those who feared the outcome
of moving past gated bounds
look to books for the way
for a way to at last embrace
doorways to the gods’ true realms
stated clearly in black and white.

The Greatest Fools
The greatest fools are the ones
that hold fast to facts when truth is gone
still the need to be right
consumes the workings of sound minds
no longer do the crowds align
those masses forced to harmonize
the end result is fractured thought
when sanity is subtly bought
by dogma’s bent in bubbles’ realms
the saddest jokers are at the helm
with agendas forlorn from hope
when madness is more than a trope
instead reality bends its knee
with the idiots flocking to the decrees
truth is absent at the end
when...

Grace
Daughter of my twilight dreams
taken before dawn had breached
the decades have spun away
now you visit by sleep’s way
you’re not forgotten even though
time has passed in the waking fog
during which other thoughts
crowd memorial you truly earned
you’d be decade timed by three
in something more than memory
Grace embodied as consequence
the name signifying forgiveness
one day I’ll join you beyond the veil
in the version of forever rest
perhaps then I’ll learn what we missed
separated by the life but not...

The Deal
The deal is made to coexist
with the monsters of the id
become a comfort in the end
with madness ready to descend
abhorrent in the face of light
still inclinations find delight
shame put aside to exist
for a moment of guilty bliss
mixing passions with a taint
perversion without due constraint
chains are released with the consent
with actors sharing the same bent
behind closed doors all is game
a contract made without blame
divorced from judgment of sanity
corruption seeped in vanity.

Same is Best
Perhaps the same is for the best
connections made in relevance
when similarities move the heart
and cause coyness to depart
some would ask why this is
that sapphic thoughts lead to bliss
their derision matters not
when two souls are resolved
finding pleasure across the board
from conversation to intercourse
above all else love is found
it’s to this feeling each is bound
the queer approach is not for all
some are cursed to hetero
revel is the same is best
be the flavor east or west.

Invalidation cuts both ways
from the sinner to the saint
or back again if truth be told
to be right is just that bold
the other end may have a name
still there’s room to shove the blame
without regard for middle ground
the place where truth can be found
this matters not for each side
it’s so much easier to glibly lie
even as the words assume
the vernier of studied truth
that surface all shine to luster
backed up with words of bluster
in the end there are no heroes
saints and sinners reduced to...

Seek a life beyond the dance
that span of staid circumstance
those tunes clinging to the past
embracing moves now long lapsed
classics are spun once again
look beyond that tired domain
cantos to tradition’s rut
now a dirge too many trust
ten thousand steps in unison
once thought to be jubilant
now a procession without end
for the march of the condemned
the dance may still exist
harmony instead of the old dread
if vitality seeks its own song
before the sounding of life's gong.
