Down at the Breakers
Didn’t get…better
Down at the Breakers
Wish it lasted…forever
Nothin like a plastic bat
And some grass and a metal fence
Having your true love near
And some wind and sand in your… hair
It didn’t get more real
Smellin a steak on the corner
Of 10th and ocean…..Russo’s was King…

Big Top Steam
A Big East Top Steam Whistle
The steam whistle goes off to sleep
No more coal left now we haul parcels and people places and then some
Want the steam whistle to echo through the valley
All I hear is a ghost whispering to me when I’m awake
So Kov bought it for scrap tryin to spin a buck
All he hears walking along great steel is
Ghostly voices coming from a steam engine from time before
They say here comes the Scrap Man
The butcher will tear us apart for profit
He says to them as long as I’m...

A man and his dummy

Ran into a ventriloquist
Wanted to get both sides
Man and his puppet
But he said I had to decide
Who I wanted to talk to
I thought they were…one and the same
But he had two sides
The side of a dummy

Getting Late Now
It’s getting late now
I have a few more jobs to do
In the corner sweep up yesterday
As the clock runs down I grab my lunch pail
In the distance there’s a damage coming
We hear that there is a hurricane brewing
Boss says it isn’t so just keep working until
ya all go back to work it’s what you’re paid for
Clouds drop down heaven opens
The clouds dropped down hell opened
Boss says move your car out of the water
Flash flood warning upon us
Boss ignored the water...

Hymn for the Plastered
I’m a drunk I’m trying to be a dad
Sit n stew get drunk before work
Hoping that these 8 hours wear off
Forgetting I have children looking at a lost father
Wake up in the sins that I deliver
Toss and turn my hip my shoulder are tender
I’m a drunk just like my father who I swear I would never be
I wish I wasn’t writing this but this is who I am
So I follow in the footsteps of my father
Trying to be a real dad
But everywhere I turn I go back to sin ...

Cut it down turn it into Biochar
Return this tree to the soil to give me
A new life out of one that died
So turn me into biochar when I no longer have a life
Give me back to the ground spread my nutrients all around
For I am secure within me my sins I wear on my sleeve
