Hello sunshine
That glimmering smile
To help me see
No harm in dreaming
Of better days
Better ways
as I
Climb naked to the mountain top
No shame, balls out
Feel this emptiness
this pain, while I
live with full intent

I'm Nothing, How are You?
So
this is the only avenue i have
kept in my back pocket
rocking out to muted sounds
i am
but a man
nothing more
but so much less
than you
could confide in
an ignorant claim
of self-defiance
oh my
i thought
for a brief second, that
i might be something
maybe have a thing to offer
yet it turns out
i'm just a pretty mess
like the aborted rest
of this shovel
all i can do is grovel
fuck them
and fuck you too
i'm here
but i'll never be you
motherfucker.

Dad Beats Down
buried thoughts rising up after long ignorance
from the roots of self-loathing, insecurity, angst
clear memories of your fiery eyes, Dad
as you would snap the belt
stare into my core
your mouth salivating
as you prepared to put this toothpick
of a sonofabitch
in his place
total submission
not gonna stop til there is no smirk left
not gonna stop til voice becomes mute
breaking down any sense of security
stomping out every last bit of self-assurance
to cope with your own flaws
to secure your insecurity
...
