POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Hi
You don't know me
My name is Cathy
You may not remember
But we knew eachother once
My favorite holiday is Christmas
I've always wanted to see it in the snow
Breathe in the crystals
And bask in the colors
I'm getting married
Everything is pretty much all set up
December twenty fourth
I cried, can you believe it?
I love mid-summer
In the evening, when it starts to cool
The sun runs to hide
But its not right for a wedding
I miss California
A place where I had friends
I enjoyed taking...

Stardust
She sings her song to the wind
With silver starlight gleaming in her eyes
A tendril of melloncholly sweeps her hair
Into memories of where she left her heart
With silver starlight gleaming in her eyes
A tendril of melloncholly sweeps her hair
Into memories of where she left her heart

The Scene of Lust
Ever searching
ever calm
ever rushing
Thrust against the pain welling in your chest
Extend your arms in effort to fly away
Pulling deeper
pulling harder
pulling closer
Thrust away the hand in time to save a finger
In time to save a mind
In time to hear your heart
Beating reflected behind his eyes
Ruffled hair entices
Gazes sending you to scream
To scream would be an awful crime
Run until they find you lying safely in his arms
To where the blood sends you to the sky
Flying to...

Quiet
Quiet is an odd creature
Stretching lips and reaching shadows
Smiling hands lead by anxious widows
Breath is stilled by sudden winds as lives are torn, replaced by crying children.
Quiet is a comfy place
Pillows brought by serving mice
Where fires die and waters cease
Traffic is eaten by the moon and taillights stutter into an early absence.
Quiet is a running snow
Enjoyed by those who have known it well
Unimaginable and feared by mystic places
Trumping feet behind eardrums pace the floors of nothingness.
Quiet is the colors...

Punch Me
Crank it
Louder
Louder
Why won't the volume increase??
Pedal to the metal
Jam it
Floor it
It's completely maxed already
No matter how loud it gets
I torture myself
Your voice whispers its way
through the most shredding solo
The thoughts eek their way
No matter how loud it gets
I'm having nightmares again
Cold
Hot
Suffocating
They're always never seemingly similar
Can you imagine the tangled imagery?
Underlying pain
Hangs just below the satin ribbon
The rope is almost velvet

Bitter choking
Aching
The stench of memories
It seems to crawl and reach
Of its own free will
It's something insanely describable
Exactly how you say
But who could ever believe
The taste of colors on the back of your tongue
In your sinuses
And just behind your eyes
It's literally like getting kicked
Directly in the back of the face
Screaming
Throbbing
It's the ceaseless repeatative narrative
Of life lost
Of life lived
Of trust and love and joy and pain
Pain
I would doubt you
But then I would doubt myself...

Signed With My Heart and Sealed With My Kiss (I Will Love You Forever)
I finally did it
The ghost of you that I carried with me
Was at last laid to rest
May we meet again
In a different place
In another time
As different people
I carried you in my pocket
A small momento of what you mean to me
My dearest friend
The sweetest memory
Offering a kinder word, a softer smile
Who haunted me so long
I still remember our song
It plays in my head from time to time
Practically have the URL memorized
Listening to it is a bittersweet
Sharp memories of where we never went
Is it wrong of me...
The ghost of you that I carried with me

Contempt Ye Me!
What a world in which we live
That so commonplace is a thought to shed
To share is not an act of grace
By God-given right we have our voice
What have I, then, to say
At last?
Day's dawning crack of thunder roll
'Cross your ears to sounding drums
By what we have yet not to say?
Offended are offenders, dear
Guiltless, indeed, I not lay
Your tearstreaked memory does not
Withhold from me this night
Nor wrench from me my grasp
On to your cold, dead eyes
Whatforart thou wilt to speak?
Come, now! darling, hear me not? ...
