I Thought, She Thought
I thought myself, a demon
What my horrors had created
I thought myself, unlovable
What my horrors had degraded
She thought of me, an angel
What my horrors didn't define
She thought of me, beautiful
What my horrors couldn't ruin
I thought myself, a monster
Not a heart or soul or will
I thought myself, a creature
With claws and teeth and fur
She thought of me, a friend
Kind and strong and caring
She thought of me, a puppy
All barks and yips and play
I thought myself, lonely ...

Angels
I've thought angels to be overrated
Something for lonely hearts to believe in
A distraction for lack of hope
And for weary thoughts to imagine
But I've crossed paths with an angel
And changed direction to admire her
With amazement that I could witness her beauty
And that she didn't doubt mine
She took my fragile heart
Her careful hands trembling
Like she was questioning her worth
When, really, it should've been me
This angel trusted me with her presence
And later on, her love
A terrifying responsibility ...
Something for lonely hearts to believe in

She Is
She is the eye in my storms
The beating of my faltering heart
The hand I look for in the dark
The returning light at the end of my tunnel
The flowers blooming after a harsh Winter
And the first fresh breeze of Spring
She is the calm rush of the ocean
The smell of rain after a downpour
The feeling of a newly bought onesie
The sweet taste of chocolate
The breathtaking sight of a sunset
And the sound of my favorite songs
To put it simpler, she is my everything
With all my fears riding my shoulders

The Boy
Madness descends on my fragile state of mind
And steers me towards the forsaken
Round and round like a sick cycle
And the blood still always flows
He's been driven mad by this fairytale
And constantly screams at the moon
A reflection he once remembered
Now empty and replaced
With one a much more sinister smile
And determined that he will break
Settled down on cracked grounds
They'll all collapse eventually
And there he'll be, falling with me
Except that he is the cause
Take away...

My Demon
Beat
I'm screaming
And no one hears a thing
Beat
I'm crying
And no one bats an eye
He wants me,
My demon,
To come out, come out
And play
Wherever I am, he'll find me
And drag me back to him
One by one
They all start screaming
And he thinks he has won

Red String
My red string was severed
From who I thought could be mine
Time made it grow old
Weather made it erode
With each new inch that withered
My scissors cut and cut
My string grew shorter and shorter
My heart grew colder and colder
Snip go the scissors
And away goes the string
Beat goes my weary heart
And thus my eyes they droop
I'm down to the final inch
My scissors armed at the ready
Maybe my finger will go with it
And give me a new red trail to follow
But as my scissors close
As my skin...

I Wrote This When I Was 15, It Doesn't Have A Title
I found pleasure in the ropes that bound me to you
You would pull tighter and tighter
And I swore myself your subject
The tighter the ropes, the louder my cry
No, not a painful cry
Though it came near to one
You drew me closer to you
My arms crossed and burned
I never questioned the pain
The ropes cut and drew blood
Forced me upon my knees to you
And you savored my suffering
I give all I have to you
