"A Shade for Rest"
In these dark, desperate, unmerciful
days, it is hard to find anyone that
being around makes you feel any
better; most times after sitting
with others for a while you feel
worse, having also absorbed
what was contained within
their spirit
I awoke this morning and felt a
different atmosphere about me;
it made me feel uneasy and a
bit strange; I thought to myself,
this can't be, I know that it isn't
But as I begin to talk to it it made
me feel differently and more at
peace; it was a warm emotion

"The End of Love"
I my soul have fortified with
hatred and self-loathing;
preemptive action to
save it from all the
opportunistic
fiends looking
for an opening
Galvanized and stone cold
its been made; with thorns
its been woven, and motes
round-about
Overlaid with steel reinforced
to keep everything out
Try to penetrate it with all of
the faux kindness that you
can, but I know that that
doesn't exist anymore,
so, go away and never
scheme on me again
Fuck you and all of your
gentle coaxings to lull me
away...

"The Shallows" chhichhale
I saw you standing there in the cold
dark shallows, your heart was
suspended there on something
that had the appearance of gallows
Words they were, but in essence
they had the same effect...
Love and Trust that have choked
the life out of many and brought
about their untimely death
We hang on them so completely
disarmed and with the best of
intentions, never realizing that
the one's we avow them to
may not feel the same, and
have plans that are cruelly
malicious
We give them up, but...

"Horns for Smiles"
I force out this smile, and
then keep it up for as long
as I'm able to
I'm not accustomed to this
so I quicly put it away never
wanting to be fake
Smiles are rare in this fucking
insane-asylum, so cherish it if
you ever find one
I lost mine a long time ago, so
if you see me with one it's not
mine...
It's either stolen or borrowed
But I with quickness give it
back, because it feels so
foreign on the face that I
now wear
Mine is black, downcast, sullen;
bright and upwards looking I
possess...
then keep it up for as long
as I'm able to

You lie so beautifully, yes,
exquisite is your style
And when you smile you
subdue me, breaking me
down by your wiles
This you do profusely,
pathologically until it all
seems like the truth in
your own eyes
If anyone comes close to
your facade seeing through,
you feign the victim, and
cry and cry and cry
So just paint your picture, as
abstract as it is; and live out
this fantasy, until it comes
unravelled, and reveals the
ugly you that for so well
and so long, you've so
craftily hid
Guile...

And when you smile you
