LOVE POEM

THATS LIFE
Some people are rich, some are poor
not everyone has got a front door
some sleep rough in shop doorways
or on the footpath, same place always
they don't have to do that
there are places they can go
we can all choose
that is life.
Some are drug addicts
others may be alcoholics
some well educated,
others not be
most will have seen life
and life is an education
some will seek help not all
we all make mistakes
some more than others
even on d.u. poetry
we make mistakes
that is life
we have to get on with it
if...

Are you lonesome tonight
do you miss me tonight
lots of people are lonely
some need some tender love
others need care and a little shove
they could be soldiers families
children missing daddy
spare a thought for people on their own
show some love and visit someone
help anyone you can if they are lonely
show we care and love still exists

THE LAST POST
They laid the poppy wreaths
and the bugles played the last post
old and young with memories in the heart
each remembering the wars and lost friends
it has been many years shedding our tears
The parade marching past for the salute
the memories for family and friends
will these wars ever end
still it goes on
troops are still killed or injured
will we learn the lesson
and stop the wars
I fear they will never end

DREAMER
I went away for a few days
its a nice hotel that I use always
they gave me a nice room
big double bed and large bath
I decided to have a bath
soap suds all over me and soap in my eyes
then I got a nice surprise.
I felt this hand in the water
I opened my eyes and saw the maid
slim and so beautiful
I will find the soap for you she said
one hand looking for soap
the other stroking my head
her hands were everywhere
she took off all her clothes
and got into the bath
we were both looking for the soap now
soon we were kissing and...

TRUE LOVE
They were to young it was said
it would never last
they were too young to wed
she is still in her teens
but the wedding went ahead.
A baby girl was born
a few years later a baby boy
they were happy and in love.
They had problems but coped
tackled each problem with hope .
The daughter now had children
the parents happy with grandchildren
then tragedy struck them hard
the son was killed in a accident
they struggled again with life
it seemed harder for the wife
two years after she died with cancer
she left a love letter for...
it would never last

WORDS FROM MY HEART
The words are here in my heart
but for some reason I cant start
try as I might I cant say or write
my heart may have locked in the words
and they may never be heard
are they words of love for friends
or words of love for family.
even my enemy would like those words
then want to be my friend
if only my heart would unlock
and release those words

FAR AWAY
I know that I am far away
I think of you night and day
it is hard out here in Afganistan
you far away in England
I will get home when I can
thinking of your smile and lovely eyes
begin to think and realize
it is hard for you as well
soon we will be together again
then be rid of far and away pain

LOVE OR WAR 2
Another week has gone by
troops are injured or die
how many more lives lost
another family waiting for a loved one
to come home in a coffin,
another soldier home in a wheelchair
is it ever going to end
do children have to be without a father
a mother without a son a wife without husband
the wars need to stop.
Children need a father to give love
and help them through life
not staring at empty chairs
round the table
the wars need to stop
lets give more love

IS MY FRIEND ALRIGHT
We were both sat on the settee
he cuddled close to me
he touched my hand
idid not know what to do,
i am not in love with you
you will always be my friend
right up until the end.
You have got to stop
kissing me on the cheek
sitting close to me on the seat
it is girls i like
you are only my friend
i will go out with you now and again
but it is not the same.

i will miss my four legged friend
back to his owner
just back from holiday

She had been with me a few years now
in that time she has been good to me
the last time i saw her she was stood on the drive
and then she went through the gate
the last thing i saw of her was her large backside
she dissa peared down the road ,maybe feeling hate
she had been faithful trusting and reliable
it might bea good thing we have split
it may bethe right time for a change
i hope that man who took her away
takes good care of her
and gives her a regular service

MY NEW PARTNER
I watched her standing there
she had a kind but sad face
with lovely blue eyes and so beautiful
i fell in love at the first glance.
she had a fantastic body
to go with those lovely legs,
i thought i must have her
so i got talkingto her there and then.
now i had to tell my wife
how would she take it when i told
her i had found someone new
someone to share my life
the next day i left home
and bought that lovely dog
from the kennels
she had a kind but sad face

Ithink of children everywhere
some dying of starvation here and there
others kill by bullets or bombs
has the world lost the meaning of love
will we ever go back to peace.
or just keep killing each other
,our children need to grow up
we need to show our love
help the starving children
stop the wars and live in peace
