POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I eat, sleep and breathe poetry. My dream was always to see my name in print below something I wrote. I'm happy to say I'm living my dream since I not only got published but became a professional writer.
Your Touch
I crave the feeling
of your fingers on my skin
the way they make me tingle
and make my head spin
You have that certain something
that soothes me with your touch
that special kind of feeling my body
needs so much
It doesn't matter
Where they roam
From my head down to my toes
I ltruly love anywhere they go
of your fingers on my skin
the way they make me tingle
and make my head spin
You have that certain something
that soothes me with your touch
that special kind of feeling my body
needs so much
It doesn't matter
Where they roam
From my head down to my toes
I ltruly love anywhere they go

A Witch's Cry
It was barely dark
No stars were out
Not a ghost or monster
seen lurking about
I climbed the hill
And found the trail
I was told would lead me
To a real ghost house
I was skeptical and
Not a bit scared
I knew it was only
A story my friends shared
Still I was curious
As a body could be
So I made my way
Through the woods
To see what I could find
I soon came to a house
Dilapidated as it could be
That's when I heard
Somebody scream,
"Die, die, die ...
No stars were out
Not a ghost or monster
seen lurking about
I climbed the hill
And found the trail
I was told would lead me
To a real ghost house
I was skeptical and
Not a bit scared
I knew it was only
A story my friends shared
Still I was curious
As a body could be
So I made my way
Through the woods
To see what I could find
I soon came to a house
Dilapidated as it could be
That's when I heard
Somebody scream,
"Die, die, die ...

Swinging
High above the hustle
and bustle
of everyday life
I have found my niche'
A safe place, a quiet space
where I am content
Ever climbing higher
drawn to all that inspires
I'm swinging and I am singing
accepting all that comes and
letting go of all that goes
In this simple life of mine
To make sense of the world
around me
Is what I crave above all else
I have faced my demons
and I've accepted myself
A better life I couldn't see
than the one given to me

Spellbound
Your eyes are intoxicating
They penetrate the very
depths of my soul
Mesmerizing eyes
that speak ever so tenderly
of love's promises
and rage with such
passionate desire
they set my soul on fire

depths of my soul
Mesmerizing eyes

Ink
One day death will come
and take me by surprise
There will be not a glimmer
in these hazel eyes
nor words to spill
from these cold lips
and If you really
want to know
It was with fervor
I bared my soul
To those I loved
or those in need
For none but I
could see your soul
In such a way
I felt it's glow
and after all
It was you
who caused this
fervent ink to flow
and take me by surprise
There will be not a glimmer
in these hazel eyes
nor words to spill
from these cold lips
and If you really
want to know
It was with fervor
I bared my soul
To those I loved
or those in need
For none but I

Edgar, Dear Edgar
Any true student
of Edgar Allan Poe
should know
he was orphaned
when his father
deserted the family
and his mother died
a year later
Since Edgar and his wife
never had children
any man claiming
to be a direct decedent
of Poe could be
seen as an imposter
and should certainly
be held to
the highest scrutiny
So remarkable a man
was he who
lit a fire so hot
It blazed through
the dark night
singeing the moon
and the trees
creating a solid path ...

All I Want To Do
All I want to do is please you
and in pleasing you
feel your warmth
surround me
your sweet lips on mine
I shall let you do
to me what you have
longed to do
abandoning all anxiety
I invite you to take me
take all of me
yet want for more
So I can be the
woman you run to
the one to see you
through both night and day
Yes, all I really want is
to please you (and be with you.)
and in pleasing you
feel your warmth
surround me
your sweet lips on mine
I shall let you do
to me what you have

abandoning all anxiety
I invite you to take me
take all of me

Carry On
If I've spent a moment in rhyme
I've done it a thousand times
I shudder to think where I would be
If it wasn't for this gift given to me
I've been told that my eyes really shine
When I'm discussing this love of mine
Capturing life's moments in time
Arranging them in words that are all mine
To pour my heart out on paper
Is such a natural part of me
It's literally kept me alive
And walked with me side by side
I've done it a thousand times
I shudder to think where I would be
If it wasn't for this gift given to me
I've been told that my eyes really shine
When I'm discussing this love of mine
Capturing life's moments in time
Arranging them in words that are all mine
To pour my heart out on paper
Is such a natural part of me
It's literally kept me alive
And walked with me side by side

On A Visit To Salem, Massachusetts
One of my fondest memories comes from a visit to Salem, Massachusetts in October of 1984. Me and my ex-husband were visiting his only sister who lived in Bedford. On that chilly fall afternoon we decided to visit the witch house in Salem, where the witch trials took place in 1862-1863.
I was very excited about the trip mainly because the witch trials had always fascinated me. There were few visitors there that day but none of us cared about that. We followed the tour guide, who was property dressed for the times into the witch house. From the moment he began speaking, the three of...

Living My Dream
I don't know why anyone else is here but I like the community of poets at DUP. I enjoy interacting with them. Being here also helps me to keep writing. I'm not here to prove anything nor to try to be the most popular writer here. I am content with my talent and enjoy the accomplishments I have made. Would it surprise you to know that some of my poems are now considered famous ones? They are even posted here. I am truly living my dream and if I died tomorrow, I would die a happy woman.

A Flower For Your Thoughts
A flower for your thoughts,'
he said placing a flower
over her left ear.
'You really wouldn't want to know
if you had a clue as to my thoughts
Perhaps then I could steal a kiss
for you look so pretty in that dress
She said that stealing is a crime
but I can't blame you for trying
You see, she said, I have
a man of my own
you would be wise to leave me alone
He stared at her as she walked away
he heard her say
If I were you I wouldn't stay
because if you do there
will be hell to pay
