the tempest
She searches for the wild
This tempest that longs to dance
Wish counsel unheeded
Futile
Words flung to the abyss
Yet sweeter to the sight
Than the burning of frankincense
Soft words
The soothing ointment she seeks
A place of refuge
From defilement contracted in life
Her loins the vessels of seduction
Shrouded
In a cloak of silk
Which captivates and tantalizes
Her nectar both wounds and heals
This leaves one yearning
For the physician of souls
This tempest that longs to dance

the pretender
True love
Remains firm
In the midst of temptation
Sweet words of affection
Leads to fruits of desire
Strange fantasies can disturb
The lonely and foolish heart
True love is not an illusion
Absence tests the fragile soul
A crafty seducer
Can whisper
Even on paper
Yet usually the snares
Filled with empty promises
Better to wait for reality
Than to be beguiled
By yet another pretender

without hope
Salted tears
Bitter and unwelcome
To the taste
A sickly soul
Not yet, ready for an open heart
Broken people
Who dreadth in despair
We carry shackles
In this valley of broken dreams
We are the unclean
Not welcome
In the human race
Confident only in death
This is our living nightmare
Hope is only whispered here
Where faith is lost
Woe the unconquerable bond
Bitter and unwelcome
To the taste

tainted heart
It sat upon my sleeve
Bloodied, black and worn
It carried a no vacancy sign
For it was bitter
Ransacked and derelict
I remember
When it was open
Soft and kind
Willing sound and free
A venerable treasure
You came in the back door
With silver tongue and charm
Full of allure
With plans to steal it
Cunning baffling and powerful
Full of deceit and lies
A whirlwind that has left it tainted
Now just a burden of loneliness
Wailing in this darkness
Bloodied, black and worn

the forshaken
Ten thousand times ten thousand
Weeping and wailing
In this city of lost souls
Young and old
Male and female
Lamenting for an eternity
Floating through each other
Without feeling
Each carrying the shackles of past life
Who could redeem them?
The forsaken
Not you or I
What crimes
To cause such anguish
I see them
Hear there cries
Not a single one sought redemption
Never to hear the final trumpet
Weeping and wailing

the devils whore
It was twilight hour
The neon sign from the street
Pulsated between scarlet and black
The sounds from the city
Fading to a hush
But in this room
Your prison
The whimpering continued
But not for long
For you will never see the dawn
Sure I promised not to hurt you
But you know I lied
The phone call just said
Send me daddies little girl
You just a harlot dressed as a child
Smiling money on the table sweetie
But you have a broader smile now
My blade saw to that
How many daddies have you deceived?
I wonder
Including...

Honeyed words upon your lips
Merely to trap me as a fly
My ego stroked by every sound
My head swooning like a child’s
My vanity is now your prisoner
Each sentence of love
Sweet to my ear
I say
My husband does not notice me
Now you spin and weave
My every thought with glee
You want me
To unlock my treasure
To restore passions bloom
Upon my cheeks
But what of tomorrow
When the candles fade out
Shall I be soiled?
Mere gossip for your friends
Worse a harlot without love

Troublesome each day
When the stars dip
The rising sun
Does little to lift my heart
Pleasant dreams shattered
With each spoken word
Who dare ask
For forgiveness at repose
When failing to forgive in daylight
There is no tenderness
With speech
That is filled with nails
I feel the death of love
Hope merely casting shadows

Frustration coupled with anger
Is leading us to resentment
A deep swirling pool
Of unanchored emotions
With the power to destroy
Harshly spoken words
Still bitter to the taste
The retorts echoing in my mind
Driving me to madness
Compromise requires immediate silence
Wisdom will dictate
The appropriate response
Lust and desire
Bring short-lived gratification
Expectation levels starting to wane
The truth remains
Love watches

unbroken spirit
My soul is free
No longer a prisoner of the flesh
It carries unconquerable hope
The wicked seducer
Has no hold on me
My heart it’s trusted friend
Was faithful unto death
Strange fantasies disturbed you
Leaving me downcast and fearful
Merely time before
My body fell victim to abuse
Beaten, bloodied raped
Yet full of forgiveness
This unbroken spirit
Awaiting entry
At heavens gate
No longer a prisoner of the flesh
It carries unconquerable hope

Building on secrets
Leads to heartbreak
Fear to discard the masks
To disclose self
Puts Relationships
On the tightrope
Juggling with others’ emotions
A mere heartbeat
Away from destruction
Skeletons hidden in cupboards
Produce never ending
Fear of discovery
Truth and honesty
Under lock and key
The only redemption
Coming from open hearts
Yet the willingness is lacking
So the mystery remains intact
Momentarily
Leads to heartbreak
Fear to discard the masks
To disclose self

the kiss
In the still of the night
You will find me
Probing the folds of your honeyed cup
Whilst you sleep
Removing the sweet nectar
That seeps from within
I feel you stirring in rhythmic pluses
A flickering of eyes
As my presence envelopes yours
Now you succumb
As I serve you worthily
The delights of the flesh engulf
I am nothing of myself
So silently embraced by you
I by my own weight
Draw deeper to your inner depths
Sleep never a hindrance
To this spir’itism
You will find me
