Lucid
Even lovers leave a note on their way out
But you...
Impossible from the start
came in through my window
uninvited and unannounced.
The air was electrified by your presence
Emotions clung to me like static
so drawn to the mystery of you.
Holy healer or wicked dealer?
The truth is unknown to the naiveté of my youth
Indestructible babes
A future so bright, hope you brought shades.
But I am no more wise than the number...
But you...

SELF POEM

Secrets
I like having secrets. I hold them close.
But not as weapons of power and control.
To hang them over one's head would be a betrayal of trust.
So I hold them inside of my own head and heart.
They dig down deep inside of me like shovels removing earth...
Getting deeper with each shovelful of Self I remove.
Such plutonian ways are often misunderstood.
When reaching the core means reaching the Divine.
But not as weapons of power and control.
To hang them over one's head would be a betrayal of trust.
So I hold them inside of my own head and heart.
They dig down deep inside of me like shovels removing earth...
Getting deeper with each shovelful of Self I remove.
Such plutonian ways are often misunderstood.
When reaching the core means reaching the Divine.

Upon further exploration, while searching for the cause, I traced my cord all the way back to the wall and discovered I was never even connected at all.
Ready to leave at a moments notice;
my soul treads lightly in this body
like a vague electrical signal
or a memory from years ago that you

Angry Out
Wash the brain. Wash the brain. I've got to get this stuff off of my brain.
No one can tell me its different. Not in here, where a thousand Velcro strips hold together the broken truths of your sob story. Spare me! And this- My valid perception of your trivial existence seems to only intensify your angry reaction as you break down into tiny, color-coded ■blocks■ of the hexadecimal rainbow. Did I made out like a bandit? Or did I just fall for whatever party trick you pulled out of your pants that night? Pointless questions for which there are no answers. ...

Retrograde
Calling us backward, together
Turning inside-out in this weather
Grinding over the same old ground
Must have lost what bit we found
How can we gain from this story?
Turn our rags and riches into glory?
By starting over again
Inside the process, we can mend
The cosmos is always sure
The direction of its motion
It prepared no speech for us
But left clues for where we're going
From here, time seems torn and frayed
Universal motion strips away
Old and useless...
Turning inside-out in this weather

Carefully constructed distractions
have sent people packing.
Hiding.
Inside.
People have gone inside.
Superficial,
artificial,
but beneficial how?
Go to visit a person.
They are not really there.
Everyone is gone.

Soiled center of being
Asleep, unaware
Needs no care

Left behind, eating dust
I like being broken
Just as much
The state of things
Gone well awry
You look at me
Through cold, dead eyes
Sun turns to black
And I compromise

Spoiled perfections
And a ribbon of disgust

So out with the old

We've fallen face-down
Chasing after the blue ...

spineless
We could lie beneath the stars and dream
...dreams as big as the universe.
But like a bomb, it would come undone
and tear at the worn fabric of my heart.
As a tattered book can no longer hold
the pages of its mind
there is no spine to hold this love of mine.
The words to our story get lost
torn away by the trials of life.
You could fade into the weather
with nothing to hold us...

slow motion implosion
Unrealistic expectations
Please erase my drunken sins
Such a lonely cynic I've become
Just a shadow of the former one.
The ugly truth
My daunting addiction
Just a desperate self-seeker
Obsessed with affliction.
The chemical recoil inside of my brain
An emotional drip I long to maintain
Though soon I'll collapse
in some stellar implosion
Have a seat, watch me crumble
I'm coming down in slow-motion.
