POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
As you can tell, I am a woman of very little words. I choose them carefully and make them sharp as knives.
Holiday Haiku III
overcome with glee
emotions drip from my eyes
in my Valhalla
emotions drip from my eyes
in my Valhalla

The Big Rewind
if only
we could forget about
all the things
that keep us from
reliving
those unapologetic moments

In My Darkest Hour
just another one
of those nights
torturing your brain
infused with pain
left out in the rain
dark thoughts to drain
they rarely reward you
with personal gain

Dying Light
last night
i saw a star die
it wasn't beautiful
or brave in any way
it caught my eye
with its soft glow
and just as suddenly
it went
a light turned off
years ago

Sun and Moon
when the dawn breaks
my heart aches
as a fear sets in my bones
that all this has been a dream
and with the rising
of the sun
it might disappear
in the darkest hour of the night
you remain to be
my bright glowing light
my heart aches
as a fear sets in my bones
that all this has been a dream
and with the rising
of the sun
it might disappear
in the darkest hour of the night
you remain to be
my bright glowing light

June 13, 2019 : I Still Miss You
nine years of grieving
have not made me stop talking
to the memory of you that lingers
today I will write a letter instead
thank you, opa
for if it wasn't for you
with your loving support
and scolding me when I needed it
I would have never known
what a father is supposed to do
a bitter aftertaste lingers
I did not just lose my grandfather
but my true father figure
my confidant
my partner in innocent crime
the man I will forever compare every
potential partner to
experience has taught me ...
have not made me stop talking
to the memory of you that lingers
today I will write a letter instead
thank you, opa
for if it wasn't for you
with your loving support
and scolding me when I needed it

In This Life
sometimes i feel
nostalgic tendencies towards eras
long before my time
sometimes i dream
of faces
which my eyes have never met
sometimes i think
i may have lived a thousand lives
before this one
always i hope
i got to spend them all
with you
nostalgic tendencies towards eras
long before my time
sometimes i dream
of faces
which my eyes have never met
sometimes i think
i may have lived a thousand lives
before this one
always i hope
i got to spend them all
with you

One September Night
come join me in the silence
under a clear september sky
let my flame warm you
quench your ever pouring rain
come join me in the darkness
my eyes light up when you're close
stay here with me
as we count stars
count our blessings
under a clear september sky
let my flame warm you
quench your ever pouring rain
come join me in the darkness
my eyes light up when you're close
stay here with me
as we count stars
count our blessings

A Brief History of Me and My Father
6 years old
we are playing outside
on the little concrete patch
I'm in the goal
you're in my heart
we laugh so hard
until the ball hits me in the face
and I start to cry
12 years old
I feel like a disappointment
your actions confirm this
now I don't play rough anymore
the woman I am to become
scares you
and you
back away slowly
23 years old
I am no longer a kid
no longer a defiant teenage girl
but I am falling in love
with the woman I've become
and you...
