Fairy Tale Ending
Time never stopped moving forward
I know you had to leave
The loss left me hurt and broken
But I took the time to grieve
The past will always be there
Like memories in the sand
They rush in, bringing emotions
A timeless ticking clock with no hands
Passion has endless fuel
Flames will never go out
No matter how much water falls
Some things can never be doused
I will always wonder about our future
What all we could have been
Our souls are always connected, and
You will always have a friend
Life is way too short ...
I know you had to leave

I Tried
I tried to make you love me
Maybe I tried too hard
The more I wanted to be yours
The faster my world fell apart
I guess I was tired of hanging on
The rope to my heart frayed slow
I held on til my hands burned
And then I just let go...
As I spiraled into a life without you
I wonder what could have been
If you had really wanted me
If I had meant more than just a friend
Here one day, gone the next
As I slowly drove away
Somehow in my soul I knew
There was nothing more to say
You never heard my cries again
But...
Maybe I tried too hard
The more I wanted to be yours

Fade
The whispers of your memory
Beckon to my soul
Wishing for one more touch
The kind only you and I know
Your voice is so familiar
I still believe in it every day
But it seems as though your love
Is slowly fading away
Time is not a friend
And neither are the miles
They keep the absence permanent
Growing distant all the while
I now understand when you said
"We both know we'll never be together"
I guess I didn't want to believe in
A future without you forever.
Beckon to my soul
Wishing for one more touch

Who I Am
I have this life
I keep on living
Like it or not...
I still keep giving
All that I have
Giving in, giving up
Sometimes spilling what's left
Of life's half-filled cup
Am I meant to be here?
Or not around?
Don't need to be carried
I'm on solid ground
Strong is my faith
I can stand on my own
In this life I live
My heart is my home
I am not my past
My future - I cannot see
Who I am in this moment
Is always the real me...
I keep on living
Like it or not...
I still keep giving

Giving in, giving up

Mystery
The heavy fog
Shrouds my mind
Difficult to discern
The moving of time
The die is cast
Gray forevermore
Funny how time slips
through closed and locked doors
Beneath the blanket
Of my healing heart
Sleeps the memories
Now broken, fragmented shards
My love runs deep
In all its sweet simplicity
Now we know what could have been
Will always be a mystery

I never meant to waste your time
I only wanted to be part of your life
Twice, the abruptness, overwhelmed with foreboding
Guess it turns out, it was only me hoping
Wishing on a star - for a little of your time – if only a minute…
I fear I am left wondering – was the heart really in it?
Now, only echoes of words once spoken
Leaves me helpless, mixed-up, and alas, heartbroken

Just For Me
I finally let go of what could be
No longer living in the past
No more expectations for a future
Listening to my own self at last
I have heard a million times that
Destiny is a funny friend
It was just meant to be…
Funny how destiny is the one to call the end
Freedom from myself
And all the worry I carry around
Living for today, enjoying the now,
That is my true sacred ground
Destiny is just a word
No one ever truly believes
Everything will work out, but for now,
I will go on living just for me…

No more expectations for a future

I always think of you
Sometimes it makes me lonely

When the first real winds of Fall
Embrace me like you used to do

As I gaze at the rising moon
When I shiver in the frosty night
Just like you - it turns me on
I find your memories playing in my mind
Like those classic country songs
When I think about the first time
You held me in your arms
I still can feel the excitement
Of hearing your beating heart ...

Paint me gray
With each stroke of your brush
Color my world
With your volcanic rush
Burn me with embers
From your sensual flow

But take it ever so slow
My body begins to quiver
Familiar rumbles roll deep inside
The mounting tension builds
Ready to blow out the mountainside
Riding out the shockwave
Shuddering with full release
Erupting again and again
You cannot tame the unleashed
Pleasure is mine to give you
Can you come out to play
Once again color...

A distant roll of thunder
Echoing across the night
The scent of rain fills the air
Bracing for a streak of light
Stillness for the moment
Cascading twilight sprawls
Reaching across the bronze sky
While billowing clouds give call
The heavy air is sinking
Desperately seeking the ground
Electrifying jolts of fire
Gives the night a desolate sound
Foreshadow of what’s ahead
A gathering fury on the horizon
A sense of panic dwells within
Creating a paralyzing silence
Just before the flood gate...
