POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I have been writing poems since I was 13 years old. I have had many publications of individual poems in newspapers, magazines, electronic forums, and on radio.
vaya con Dios
adios!
you syllabicate
your solemn farewell
with sparse brevity
omigosh!
why could not you wait
for a better spell
with more levity
ominous!
rings the final fate
deathly sentinel
such severity
what a loss!
could you really hate
after love’s chantelle
no more dignity
con Dios!
vaya while i wait
tongues can never tell
why you punish me
albatross!
there the open gate
let your wings propel
reason o’er the sea

MirrorMirror
Mirrors should think longer before they reflect.”― Jean Cocteau
the drinking glass
knows not what mass
fills up its cup
when drinkers sup
half-empty now
(half-full, somehow!)
it dreads no drain
nor grudges gain
the looking glass
knows not the caste
of those who gaze
upon her glaze
whose faces frown
at doubts unknown
or who find mirth
in mirror’s girth
the window glass
sees not the frost
nor does its stain
the windowpane
elate. a hole ...

i make this mountain mine
Somewhere between the bottom of the climb and the summit is the answer to the
mystery why we climb.”—Greg Child (Born: Apr 12, 1957, Sydney, Australia)
what though the road lies rugged there before me
every bruise draws me closer to the finish line
it is an uphill journey but it lures me
for i seek treasure at the summit that is mine

revelations
i said i loved you but i lied
you did not know that’s why i cried
by modest words disqualified
my iceberg base i tried to hide
my lyric lines were filled with vain profusions
i dared not bare my heart’s true revelations
i tried to kiss you but your pride
would not my forceful whims abide
too soon for strange lips to collide
or hearts so fragile to confide
and when i told you of my predilection
you said too soon for such blunt revelations
my genesis of hope resides

But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves
do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:20, 21 KJV

to marshal earthly substance from the chances
that bless their steps while yours are lean
put not your trust in what is seen

mockingbird
Killing a mockingbird serves no purpose, and
therefore is an act of unnecessary cruelty.
no mock make of the mockingbird
no muck make of his mettle
his repertoire the hearts have stirred
of men where’er they settle

the air both night and noonday
its summer bugles far remote
from winter’s opportune-day

For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if ye forgive not
men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.—Matthew 6:14, 15 (KJV)

let hatred pin you to the ground
if treasures there your soul has found
your bridges burn
behind your heels
and every pang

favours return
of spiteful nights
deny yourself
