I don’t believe in God
that made me
in her image.
but if there is,
when I’m alone,
I need her to listen
to all of my ramblings
spoken,
out loud or on repeat
in my mind.
call it a cry for help
call it a prayer; fuck
call it whatever you want.
but if you do hear me,
if you do answer
please do not persuade me
to believe in you,
but encourage me
to carry on
with everything I have
left in me,
to use every tool
you bestowed
to...

bittersweet cacophony
bittersweet cacophony
reasons fall
out of autumn sky,
eagles rupture
stones torn;
bright stars pecking
blackened sheets of night.
the dead sway
in trees

crones crackle
a wood stove lit,
crows scratching
golden rings;
love bitten trickles
timely drips-
taste the bloody
music.

Let’s get it on
Quick, cosmic-cool,
I hurled every idea into
your brain fireworked
into the trippy tipsy dawn
and lit up the rackety
clapboard love city houses,
Jinn and toxic swinging
at your side between healthy
swigs.
You rolled and rocked
all the way to one night
paradise front seat hum,
hallucinating Marvin Gaye
beside you,
Pedal down to the canal ,
petals down, sharing chills
and flower stories, but chaste,
you only touched beams of light
on each other’s faces.
He grabbed you
out of his glum trance...
I hurled every idea into

the persistence of loss
I can resist
the fear of love
pent up
ave restlessness like moths,
enlightening me
with stains
of non-being
despite my dreams.
the loss drags on
with quaint wings
of fleshless flies,
quavered echoes
wincing and cringing
day and night
flaunts concealment;
shaded tears
shedding surprises.
the persistence of love is ours
to lose. what makes you think
I want to share
the heartache too?

suddenly calm has me, seeing
the arch and the bend
around the neck. tousled vines
taut to the root
surrounds the windows pellucid
and paned reflection
who shutters
behind the gate
with latch unhitched:
you may not
enter without a key.
what a long time here
to havein possession
the mastery.
to be received
with permission whilst
the only one to hear
its coveted warning,
this pained love gin-clear
language denies me.
