Playdough Heart
My heart is made of playdough.
I put it in my hands and tried to share it with a man.
He took it and he squashed it and played with it like a toy.
But now I understand.
That my playdough heart is precious,
and that I tried to love a boy.

You've died.
Deaths dark despite.
And I've cried.
The earth that buries us, I see no light.
I hold my head in my arms,
it's heavy and there's no alarm.
Stay, I'd like you to stay.
Just stay til the leaves turn brown.
It's strange now,
the silence I've found,
And I hate to think of you in the ground.
There was a frost last night.
So I drove to the graveyard and sat by your side.
Remember the time,
the baby died.
You said I love you and it will all be alright.

Dead
I collect thoughts like pebbles.
They rest in my head.
They lay dormant.
Gathering dusty hallucinations;
doubt, fear & procrastination.
I carry them in my skull,
a familiar comfort.
Imposters in my mind;
trying to reside triumphant.
All rational thoughts have been overtaken;
these sentiments will not be shaken.
Thoughts that long to be fed.
I wish they would just quit with their;
'I'd rather be...'

I hate to leave you, actually.
I find you a little addicting;
reluctantly but entirely
consuming.
A helpless liver taking on the poison of its troubled owner.
Not in control of the entity i should be,
and becoming more powerless daily.
On the ground but higher than the trees, facing the come down each time you leave.
Encompassed by eyes,
watching our solitude demise.
Unconcious and complete with fondness,
surrendering to a connection that is beyond us.
So i breathe,
And tell myself that it will all be ok.
