To What End?
I love so much
But I feel so hated
I want the pain gone but I don’t have the guts
I am art meant to be desecrated
I wish people knew me more
I speak to mute mouths with ears that do not listen
I am to be trapped in my head forever more
While remaining the punching bag for everyone to get the negative out of their system
I self loath
Since I was 12 years old
I tried medication
And wound up in the same situation
Maybe it’s my reason to be here
Soon I’ll just disappear
If you’re cut with a sharp blade ...

The Noose
I feel so lost
Like the cold gust of wind that blows through the abandoned building
The noose is taught
Tight as the baby’s latch on his mother
I can’t breathe
Air gone like the popped balloon
I’m stuck underneath
Like the lost wedding ring dropped in the drainage grate
I feel unseen
Like the black sheep always wondering what he did wrong
This world is mean
Aggressive like the buck in rut

The Reach
I haven’t wrote poetry in a long time
I used to write down my thoughts, but now they just aren’t mine
Sadness has again taken ahold of me
I’m damaged deeply and spiritually
I’m a hawk without sight
I’m a raven without flight
An outcast to this earth
I want to belong and I want to have worth
I feel I lost myself a while ago
My hands outreached but I’m unable to take hold
It’s like I see myself reaching for help in my reflection…
But on my side I’m stuck drowning in my own depression ...

The Release
Battling a demon that nobody can see
Stuck in a war… a war inside of me
Scars that are visible and some that are not
I seem miserable and miserable is all that I’ve got
I’ve never been released from this pain
My head hangs heavy filled with shame
“Maybe I’m not strong enough” is all I think
My thoughts are now dripping they’re dripping into the sink
Goodbye and good riddance
I didn’t ask for life and this life was my Penance
Stuck in a war… a war inside of me

Overseas
Multiple booms felt from around the world
Loss of life on a large scale happened
Years of wrath was unfurled
Answering the call for many was what was wanted
Fast forward 20 years
Without strategy we were ordered to leave
Seen within their eyes was the afghani’s fears
Loss of life, ordered no response was all there was to see
A feeling of emptiness
Years of sacrifice flushed down the toilet
Beheadings at the gate and all were innocent
Answers were needed but the back of his head is all we would get

A puppet
Hold steady and hold fast.
You never know how long your time will last.
Depression always lingers.
We become the puppet and the strings are manipulated by it’s fingers.
An equation never solved.
It’s caused many lives to become lost.
We must learn to Live with something…
That makes us constantly feel like Dying.

Are you the one who dedicates much time to others emotions?
You are always willing to listen and provide solutions.
Do you also notice that everyone realizes this but, flipped around, has no patience?
Then, we are the same and it’s crazy that we end up the nuisance.

What’s a man to do?
When everything in his life has been laid out before his eyes.
But, I love you, has never been felt permanently true...

We long for human connection.
Even when our personalities sometimes avoid it. The spirit is weakened.
