Addiction
My love for you is a sin
The way I crave for you to taste my innocence
How I cringe at the thought,
Yet it makes me want to fall on my knees
You are my subtle intoxication
The drug I can’t stop myself from taking
A needle in my vein that stops my heart
With or without you I’ll fall apart
You are the smoke that clouds my lungs
The reason I find it hard to breathe
A lighter in my dark
I burn my hands to watch your spark
Something about you is so bad for me,
Yet you're the best I've ever had
The way I crave for you to taste my innocence

A Whisper to be Remembered
My voice is a whisper
If you only take a minute to listen,
You'll notice it's there
There's a reason for the calmness in the way I walk
There's a reason for the way I smile,
The way I talk
There's a reason for everything,
Just like how you will one day think of my name
Today, I am not favored
I am not so known as of for my life to be savored
But instead, I am something so sweet,
That I'm being saved for later
I am the silence that takes you on that leap of faith
I am that single word that absently makes your day
I am...

Look at How You've Grown
What are we trying to prove by living and dying in the end?
If our sins make us happy, why do we apologize for them?
What if who we are was controlled by someone else?
Would that explain the voices in the back of our minds crying for help?
How is it that we can fake a smile all day,
Then fall apart at night?
How are we all such good actors?
Where we bred for this fight?
When you think about the saying, “make love, not war”,
Do you ever stop to realize that love is our war?
How emotional pain is worse than physical?
Would you rather die...
If our sins make us happy, why do we apologize for them?
What if who we are was controlled by someone else?
Would that explain the voices in the back of our minds crying for help?
How is it that we can fake a smile all day,
Then fall apart at night?
How are we all such good actors?
Where we bred for this fight?
When you think about the saying, “make love, not war”,

Royalty
I wear the crown
But I’ll never be royalty
And I have friends
But there’s no such thing as loyalty
I heard everyone around me is fake
But they think I have what it takes
Taking everything away from me

Of the kingdom turned to dust
And I haven’t got much, anymore
I wear the crown

Once they find out, they’ll be through with me
They think they’ll get something,
But I’m really worth nothing

MISCELLANEOUS POEM

What Love May Never Know
We are what age cannot define
What not even the word "love" can satisfy
We are the subtle whispers in the background
Yet the eerie darkness that sets the stage
We came together to mend these tattered soles
Our bond is that of our broken homes
Who are we?
We don't even know
I'd like to call us a family as it seems
We have a trust that cannot be broken
And silent pain that we all know
Love may not appease us at this point,
But this bond makes us feel alive
We are a feeling that never dies

The Doctor
The doctor will tell you to keep breathing
Though these words can be so misleading
And your heart feels so uneven
Shaky because your eyes are bleeding
Call it rain
The doctor will tell you who your real friends are
Tell you that it's not ok to have those scars
But you wonder who do they think they are
They haven't been through what you have so far
So the scars tell a story that sets you apart
More misleading words for that uneven heart
The doctor will tell you that they care
They have no blood that you share
And this...
Though these words can be so misleading
And your heart feels so uneven
Shaky because your eyes are bleeding

Gifts Left Unopened
A man with no arms reaches for something greater
We were born with two so we'll just grab that later
While the lady with no legs sits up tall
We decided to just let ourselves fall
And the boy who's deaf writes music because he dreams
We can't even bother to do that in our own sleep
It's funny,
The girl who's blind has seen the big picture
We could learn but we're too judgemental to sit with her
"We have everything,
Yet we do nothing
When the person who has nothing
Does everything"

Reality
I want to believe that there's a place
Where all of our fears go away
And dreams are real dreams;
Not nightmares
But reality is cold and unforgiving,
How do we survive in the world we live in?
We don't
We create utopias in our minds
They come crashing down when we open our eyes
Yet we still want to believe our own lies
There's Neverland and Wonderland
But we live in the world
We'll all grow old and die
And we can't escape like Alice could
The world isn't filled with fairies and magic potions
We've got "fairy...
Where all of our fears go away
And dreams are real dreams;

3 years ago we had the world at our fingertips
Nothing mattered but your lips pressed against mine
"Let's stay young forever"
We were not the faint of heart
2 years ago we had the world envy us
Nothing mattered but the thrill of living for today
"We are young forever"
We changed the faint of heart
1 year ago we had the world knocking on our door
Nothing mattered but you and how this felt
"You can't change us"

Alive
When the days are too long,
Yet the sun's not shining
And you're trying to see in the dark,
But your thoughts are blinding
The roses don't smell the same
And the green grass is slowly fading
You don't know who's worth blaming
When your beautiful garden is decaying
Do you get up?
Do you even budge?
When life gets tough,
Have you had enough?
When other people are fighting for their lives
We decide to jump off bridges
And cover ourselves in stitches
Who's the smart one in this situation?

Fear
We are afraid of the dark
Afraid of dying
Scared of what we have yet to understand
What is in the dark I must ask,
Who creates this fear?
We say that monsters hide in the dark
Or are we simply looking in the mirror?
And death is unavoidable
All things must die
Are we truly afraid of the dark?
Or of where we fit on the other side?
So now we are afraid of what we do not know
Seems as if humanity is always scared
Seeking the truth is frowned upon
Or is it just that there's nothing there?

Scared of what we have yet to understand
