To Love a Poet
To love her is to write her letters and poems
She collects them to remind herself they didn't know home
For they are the melody that mends her soul
If she loved you she will write about you
hopefully not as a means to console her pain
Or as a way to erase and forget your disdain
She would rather write from a place of faith

She held the power inside her to make a broken man believe in love
Dangerous she was should you fall in love with her
For she would teach you what it is to be loved
She would inspire you to rise up to be the man you dreamed of

The Dissolution
There's a lot of water under this bridge
I tried to jump off and go for a swim
I was met with the current too strong for me
For it triggered my wounds until they toppled me
I tried so hard to feel safe and secure
But there was no buoy to help me anchor
The thoughts and feelings instead sank her
Each reinforcement tainted her
She returned to the bridge escaping further pollution
Avoidance was the only solution
