Transparent
If all the veils that shield us
From each other's view
Were suddenly to fall away
Revealing what is true
Would you feel embarrassed by
What’s hidden in your heart
Or would you be at ease
In showing who you are
Thoughts exposed
For all to see
Secret desires
Laid bare
Your anger, your sadness
Your dreams
And your madness
All floating through the air
Imagine all the shadows
Bathed at once in light
Forcing full transparency
This sacred second sight
From each other's view

No Words
I wish the words
Would flow again
But they don't fly
From my lips
Like they use to
Hidden inside
Protected
By lies
They try to escape
The grasp
Of the past
The now
That somehow
Feels
So unreal
Yet they steal
Every ounce
Of energy
From the air
That I breathe
From the source
I receive
All that I need
Still I bleed
Would flow again
But they don't fly
From my lips
Like they use to
Hidden inside
Protected
By lies

Destiny
Full moon rising
Reflecting back a mystery
Hidden in the spaces
Of what is now our history
Judging one another
Tyrants we are bound to be
Leading us to wonder
Is this not insanity

Strange Being – Love of Life
Though the earth
Lay frozen white
As we pass
Through winter’s night
In the spring
Shall seeds appear
Bringing forth
What we hold dear
Now our hearts
Begin to rise
Out of darkness
We've arrived
Bringing harmony
This day

Live in
Glass houses
Should cease
Throwing
Stones
After all
We rarely
See
How that
Very stone
So easy
To fling
Can ricochet
And crush
Our dreams
Huff and puff
All you please
My pretty
Just realize
All personas
Are made
Of glass
Easily
Smashed
The facade
Of your pleas
I r r e l e v a n t
Mirror
Mirror
On the wall
Eventually
The curtain
Falls
Exposing
What lies
Within us all
Compassion shown...
Live in
Glass houses
Should cease
Throwing

We rarely
See

Moment by moment
Just trying to see
Finding rhyme
In the rhythm
Of living
Free
Deciphering
Riddles
Speaking
In tongues
Does anyone
Understand
Why
I am screaming
At the top
Of my lungs
Listen
If you have
Ears to hear
Recognize
Freedom comes
From within

To own them

“slippin', slippin', slippin'”
Into a future
In my mind
I feel it
I see it
Slipping away
Out of bounds
Out of reach
It keeps slipping
Day by day
Does time exist at all

Illusion
There is no tomorrow
There is no yesterday

Flattery
A dangerous beast
Get too close
Become
Her feast

A fragile thing
Speak too soon
Crush its wings
With mindfulness
And great care
Let silence
Save us
From the snare
Lest we slip
And break the spell
In vanity
We shall not dwell

The heart was meant
To give away
