CLEANLY NEXT GODLY
MALE
I thanked God that I’d had a bath
When a gorgeous creature crossed my path.
Owning the name of Caroline.
She told me that “You smell divine!”
To her no man was nearer God
Than he who keeps a well washed bod!
If I’d not bathed, we’d not get close;
She had a fine, sensitive nose.
I left other lads feeling green
At my fruits of good hygiene.
If for finding someone you hope,
Keep good deodorant and soap!

BLUE EYES AND A SMILE
Inspired by nude head and shoulders picture, accompanying erotic poem in Deep Underground Poetry, of the woman author, with fetching smile and blue eyes. It drew to mind a number of women friends I have had memorable heart to heart conversations with, also blue-eyed themselves.
"Your eyes are the pools of Heshbon.." - Song of Songs, Chapter 7, verse 4.
I guess I’m one of those easy-pleased guys,
Who warm to a smile and pair of blue eyes.
They keep my gaze fixed into a fair face,
Before looking at any other place.
If she asked for cash, they’d open my...

CHAT UP AT THE STUDIO CANTEEN
(Not based on any encounter between known actors.)
A young actor, taking seat in a studio canteen,
Met a starlet with the largest breasts he had ever seen.
He moved in quick with his chat-up line:
“Your figure’s scrumptiously divine!
Are you exactly as the good Lord made,
Or has a surgeon been handsomely paid?”
She replied: “You dirty-minded churl!
I am a naturally buxom girl,
Or, put the message short and loud:
I AM WHAT’S KNOWN AS 'WELL-ENDOWED!'”

CHISELLED FEATURES
She saw his features, chiselled fine;
Thought, “His designer is divine!”
She worshipped not him, but their Maker,
(Guide against many a heart-breaker,
Seducer and downright deceiver) –
Then found he too was a believer.
She was chuffed she had met her One,
Straight out of Song of Solomon.
Her views were reciprocated -
What excitement when they dated!
When he asked her to be his wife,
She said good-bye to single life.

DON'T TAKE YOUR WIVES FOR GRANTED!
(Arose out of reading poem describing adulterous liaison between a man and a married mother of three. It was written two days after reading, reflecting the fact that boredom, escapism, poorly expressed love often results in wives being unfaithful. What follows is what the woman’s husband – indeed any husband – would have done well to have heard.)
Husband, do you truly love your wife?
Keep in her affections all your life.
Don’t go off boil when she’s a mother;
She could fall, flattered, for another.
Keep in touch with all her need,
Or upon an affair she may feed,...

INCITED
(Not autobiographical!)
When I had passed puberty,
A beautiful divorcee
Incited gullible me
To the act of venery.
From her marriage bond set free,
She had abjured chastity
And made friends with nudity.
In the bedroom’s privacy
There was nowt I did not see
Of her amazing body.
There resulted pregnancy,
And shotgun matrimony
For me at age twenty.
My parents thus disowned me:
They’d rather I was thirty,
With a decent property,
And with someone more ‘worthy’
Than a ‘dirty’ divorcee,
Before first paternity.

EXPECTANT SPOUSE
The beautiful woman I am proud to call my wife
Is bodily distended with promise of new life.
It’s quiet but at same time speaking testimony
Of the healing God’s given to her fertility.
The miracle that’s taken place has buried the years
We had tried to conceive with frustration and much tears;
Which tested but strengthened our closeness as a couple.
Thank God the child will come when we’re still fit and supple!

ANTI-RAPE VERSE FOR MEN
If she says ‘No’, then just let her go
With good grace, not take it as a blow.
If the opposite sex you would attract,
A sentence for rape’s no pretty fact.
Men who on women don’t force their way
Remain free to love another day.
With good grace, not take it as a blow.
If the opposite sex you would attract,
A sentence for rape’s no pretty fact.
Men who on women don’t force their way

(NOT THE FAMOUS) CALENDAR GIRLS
This is an imaginative look at some pictures in an imagined community calendar inspired by the Yorkshire women's institute members whose story is told by the British film "Calendar Girls".
The baker’s wife without any clothes,
Strategic bits hid behind some loaves,
With a saucy smile across her face,
Tempting me her figure to embrace.
The antique dealer’s wife with nothing on
A figure that easily turns on One,
Leaving something to imaginations
Behind mugs of all past Coronations.
A woman of one of the local farms
Stands...

THE ARTIST'S MUSE
Her smile imparts the warmest glow,
His blues enough to overthrow,
And makes him want to GO GO GO
Knuckle down in the studio.
Before you know it, hey presto!
Another piece of art to show!
Many art models had their uses
As artist’s mistresses or muses.
Some took up the “honest woman’s” life
To become an artist’s wedded wife.

WRONGED FATHER'S OUTBURST
(Contains words readers may consider rude but they are intended to convey the feelings of a father, whose single daughter has been impregnated by a married man, expressed in vernacular.)
I didn’t know she was ‘doing it’
(Otherwise known as ‘having a bit’),
But signs were there: ‘double-meaning’ wit,
Walking around with him in less kit,
And his furtively groping her tit.
Now she’s preggers, been dropped in the shit;
He’s wed, but used her as his ‘side-bit’.
That adulterer I’d like to hit
Till he’s able no more to - ‘do it’!

EXPECTANT WIFE
It was love, made in missionary position,
That got her into her matronly condition;
In the act of meeting each other’s need,
He thankfully planted his fertile seed.
As the baby grew inside her tum,
The closeness grew twixt its dad and mum.
When the time to birth the baby drew near,
Never to him had she become so dear,
And when she accomplished that hard first birth
He felt the happiest new dad on earth,
And she the moment of joy could savour
After weight of pregnancy and labour.
