I have written and published poetry for a few years now. I do even though I am dyslexic, never stopped me. I use the written word to rid myself of negative feelings about my past. It helps!

They pull and tear,

Reflections
What is this I see before me?
A reflection of a man I see?
Or just a man who clings to life,
Battling against mental strife.
No longer the man I used to be,
No resemblance that I see,
Of that person I once was,
I'm a man living a lost cause.
Everything I touch breaks,
Everything I try to make,
Becomes a lesser object,
Something that people reject.,
That's the man I discern.

I lost a tooth
If truth be told,
Wasn't bad, just
Very old,
During its demise
It cracked opened,
Deep inside.

One thing I know for sure,
That PTSD does not define me,
Yes! Yes! I know to all, it does!
The mood swings the anger,
Spills out day after day,
It's not the way I want to be.
I want to be free and be me,
Charming and joyful, that's me,
It only takes a spark, a trigger,
To provoke the flame of history,
Countries, faces, full of misery,
And back I go to the hell that was,
The things I did for a twisted cause,
Painting a picture of devastation
It's a Tinpot nation, no classification,
Desperate to scramble out of the...

Deaths Sting
Death where is your sting?
That rages against my soul,
There is no joy; life can bring,
Or vengeance, if truth be told.
Stop Your rage against me now,
Loose the arrows of fire within,
Set the chains, break them now,
Let my life at last begin.
Rage against the machine,
Rage against the injustice,
Against this tranquil scene,
My lives to dust.
I am not the man I use to be
One who lurks in the shadows
Waiting for that one to be
Falling foul of a Nations vow.
What do you see when you look at...

Stress
Stress!
A killer of love!
Fact!
It rips the heart asunder,
Nothing is left to give,
It shreds the lifeblood,
Till there's nothing to offer.
It dries the body
Twisted and broken,
Stress!
Cares not, who you are,
Stress!
Or where you're from,
It bleeds you dry,
Then you wither and die,
Stress!

Straight into the fight
Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I shall fear no evil, to my last dying breath,
With a sword in my hand, and His word on my lips,
I will send the evil one back into a firey abyss,
His angels to the left of me and angels to the right,
With a Glory Hallelujah straight into the fight,
We shall vanquish the enemy wherever he may hide,
With all of God's army with Jesus at our side.
His Glory shall be heard all over this land,
All chains are broken by the might of His hand.
Jesus is Lord He will descend from above,
And...

I Am The Last
I am last!
The last man standing!
The last who can say!
How brave the men
I knew, laid down their
Lives for the many,
The invisible ones,
No one saw or heard
By then, it was too late.
Jobs that no one would do,
No one knew, the bravery
Of such men as these,
Fearlessly, obediently
Dispatched their duty
So you could be free.

As I Walk
Shadows may come and shadows may go,
But I know for sure what I need to sow,
I will reach for His word which is truth and the light,
As I walk in the shadows, straight into the fight.
With the shield of His Spirit I shall do what is right!
I will lift up His banner all shining and bright,
And all of God's children, shall join in His glorious light,
Hand in hand we shall rise up as One,
A Nation for God, under His Son.

Why the Tears?
Why the tears
I ask myself?
Why the heart
That breaks
In tiny pieces,
No surgeon
Can ever fix,
With remnants
That is left.
Tears flow like
Torrents down
My face,
Staining everything
It touches.
I am powerless!
To stop.
A juggernaut,
Of emotions
Collide with fragility
Stained and blurry eyes.

Here's Tae twa braers!
A braer tae me, is no just oany wan th' cum's alang,
Or stoaps tae shoot th' breeze,
He's a man Tae cum alang side ye at oany time ye need,
Tae lisin Tae o yer woes.
A man tha' ne'er hides awa or pass ye oan the street.
Naw! a braer sticks through thick an thin,
Nae matter whit is wrang,
A braer lends an ear, a shulder Tae hae a greet,
Or a hand Tae help ye up,
He's wan Tae wipes awa yer tears, and bides until the end.
That's a braer tae me!
