The Daily Ritual
Earphones in, music on
Coat at the ready
Should rain come
The beat kicks in
Off I roam
The sun shines down
Autumnal chill surrounds
Clean, sharp air in
The day痴 stress out
The ritual begins
The ascent begins
The beats kick in
Up country lanes
With nature abound
Beauty all around
Familiar strangers I see
A glance, a nod
A simple connection made
Past them I go
Marching to the beat
On I go, step by step
Beat by beat
Pace matches music
All thoughts fall away...
Coat at the ready
Should rain come
The beat kicks in

Live
Twist the throttle
Release the clutch
Lift the foot
Off I go
A curve approaches
Line of sight shortens
Steer against the bend
Lean round the corner
Straighten up, on we go
Lines through bends
Parabolic dreams
Ebb and flow
The road rises and falls
Smooth but full of holes
Try to stay between the lines
Always between the hedges
Every sense alive
In tune with nature
Living in the moment
A meditative journey
Too soon it痴 over
Back to the mundane
But when...
Release the clutch

Nice guys finish last

Life is complicated right now
I just don稚 see you that way
I get that I知 good
Just not bad enough
I deserve someone good

You try to be nice
Well, usually anyway
But after 30 years of rejection
I致e had enough. I知 away.
