Parishioner
luscious rapture
taking me to my paradise
where the flowers smell of fresh honey
bow down to your grace
cannot wait to have a taste
of pure intoxicating holy water
i am simply a follower
mindlessly stepping toward warm streams
there is nowhere else i'd rather be
other than in the sun rays
the power of this place
transforms me into a believer
there is nothing more profound
nor as moving as what you have bestowed
i have been made into a gardener
licking the petals of sin
taking me to my paradise

Banner of the Sun
there will be days that never seem to end
as we sit in gloom, they always do
one way the other we make it through
when the strain gets to great
your shoulders seem to not be able to bear the weight
condition yourself for future endeavors
because life has not yet dealt all it has to offer
fear not for the life we lead is only governed by the attitude we display
be grateful with what you have
straighten up your back to push through the day
the current times seem strenuous, tedious
with nothing to do but be governed by fear ...
as we sit in gloom, they always do
one way the other we make it through

Standing in the Door
i am stuck on words
they can't make sense
they don't make any sense really
so i sit in my living room
writing nonsense
about the demise of humankind
or hope for love
all seems so topsy turvy
i can't grasp onto ideas anymore
i am out of morsels
i eat and sleep in my abandoned mind
the puzzle is always incomplete
when you stand there looking through the door
and we have finally had all we can take
we will never make the house we once talked about anymore
they can't make sense
they don't make any sense really
so i sit in my living room

Flowers all the Same
i know you're down and out
depraved, starving for attention
but this is too much
i know you just want to be touched
you are going about it the wrong way
when the flowers die off
you cry in pain
when they bloom they're poisonous
yet you eat them again
time and time and time again
same shape just different colours
same scent, same stalk
never ever will you learn
in silence you yearn
yelling in the dark
only your own echoes bounce around
i reached out so many times
i grew a garden new

Know me now,
i know myself more than then
still not fully understood,
but more comfortable in my own skin,
full of contradiction and mixed emotions
yet i can handle what is within
i study the complexities of man
and all that is in his hand
beauty and chaos
impotence and resolution
many stoic fingers and limp members
there was a day that the hours didn't matter

Recommend cleaning
several times a day
keep distance
be mindful of coughs
and feeding from public troughs
be weary yet caring of your neighbor
the elderly and vulnerable alike
pay no heed to good news
they won't mention it anyways
touch only with gloved hands
wear ineffective masks for effect
wash your hands again
shower
rinse
repeat
maybe this is a good time to organize your house
bang your spouse
see the beginnings and the ends alike
maybe stay at home and ride your pretentious...

coming from a clearing lined with colorful blossoms,
i create footsteps toward the notes,

Ghosts in Durham
it is dead in town
i saw the first ghosts of the night sweep by
their translucent shapes ebb and flow
into the streets of Durham
nothing to show of resilience
or wanting to be free
just ghosts walking mindlessly
