I pricked my finger
I pricked my finger today,
I was trying to hold a flower.
I pulled it off the bush
and in return it stabbed me in the thumb.
Only a single drop bled
but it still stings.
All for a flower
all for me.

Different
I don't like dresses,
they just don't suit me the way a tux does.
I don't wear tuxes because they don't fit me right.
I cut my hair short,
but that doesn't make me a dyke.
My voice is still highpitch
but that's alright.
you may see a girl but all I see is a guy.

He doesn't sleep
The shadows dance along the walls,
All sounds seem to silence,
Soon laughter Hysterical and pleading for help.
He laughs only to hold back the tears.
These nights he does not sleep,
These nights,
he hides beneath the sheets and pretends,
Pretends that this is normal,
When he knows it’s not.

She screams,
she shouts,
yet no one listens.
she cries,
she begs,
yet no one sees.
she is lost,
she needs help,
yet cannot ask.
She is in pain,
she is hurt,
yet no one offers comfort.
She gives her all only to go unnoticed,
unthanked,
unappreciated.
She is a mother..

I have yet to find
a heart as pure
as the one before me,
Words do little justice
to describe the beauty,
the divinity
of the one i see before me,
i can only stand
at a loss for all words,
i am stunned.

Unintentionally staring
Eyes darker then night,
skin that looks softer then silk,
lips curled into a sweet gentle smile,
hair as black as can get yet glimmering,
such beauty stands before me
yet i can only stare.

sparks to flames, flames to ashes
Together the two lit a spark
Over time it grew
Turning to a roaring flame
Growing out of control
It became a wild fire
Burning everything down
Trust, hope, love,
All burnt away in the flames
Soon the flame between them died down
All that remained was ashes
Not a single thing between them remained
And the spark between them was no more

All Alone
Without thought,
Without care,
One acts On their own,
Negligent to others,
Unaware of the pain caused by reckless actions,
To caught up in one's self
To worry
Of what could become
Of another,
To be this way
Is to be truly Isolated and alone
When one’s self comes before the whole world around them,
They are truly all alone.

Can't see past the dark
In darkness,
Nobody sees
The depth of Anothers
Sadness,
The darkness behind anothers
Lies,
The tears that have stained their face.
No wonder people choose to stay in the dark and shadows,
It hides everything from others
Without having to hide at all.

find yourself
How does one find themselves?
I hear people say all the time “you just need to find yourself”.
How does one do that?
I already know where I am at,
How much more found can I be than that?
Is there another me out there?
Am I not me and am the only one who doesn’t know it?

I always believed that the saying “you just need to find yourself” was metaphorical
But now I see,
It is quite literal.
It is to tether yourself back to what is really there,
To know where you stand, not just in location but in life.

it won't help
As days pass,
people still weep for ones long gone,
crying for the ones that have passed,
praying for them to be brought back.
Why do they cry when it is too late?
Why do they pray when it doesn't change a thing?
They have passed on,
they will not be back.
Yet the tears still stain flushed cheeks and puffy eyes,
they still pray and plea for the outcome to change.
It won't help,
it won't bring them back,
it will not magically erase what has been done.
It won't help
