If Foucault Were A Panoptical Poet
I know not what happened before my memory.
Just take for granted what [i]I’ve been told.
From wrinkled lips
And tattered tomes
Come marked ‘membrances –
Songs of stodgy tone.
We, ourselves, are marked should we forget them.
“They” are the holidays.
We “manouvre” ourselves
In our “natural – malleable – forms”
To be “docile” – “drawn” – and “quartered” –
Fifteen minutes at a time.
Atomic clocks [are] like wartime...
Just take for granted what [i]I’ve been told.

Unknown to Me
Unknown’ to Me,
'She' writhes beneath My skin.
I exhale Her with ev’ry breath.
She is the heat within.
And when My breath returns,
it is rich with Her scent —
a perfume so effuse,
My heart, forever pent.
For to roam,
it does refuse:
it is still — biding —
and consumes abuse.
As if this hunger
shall ever subside;
as if it thirsts
just to be denied.
She is ‘unknown’ to Me.
She has kept Herself afar.
She is worth all to Me —
that 'She' that YOU are.
'She' writhes beneath My skin.
I exhale Her with ev’ry breath.
She is the heat within.
And when My breath returns,
it is rich with Her scent —
a perfume so effuse,
My heart, forever pent.
For to roam,
it does refuse:
it is still — biding —
and consumes abuse.

My Little Lagoon
winter had come
to my little lagoon,
‘ere the water’s still,
can't swim, nor swoon.
propelled no more
by the waves I’d known –
engulfed by chill,
'pon the beach was thrown.
so I stepped away
from this frozen pond –
that fertile lake,
of which I’m fond –
to dip my toes
in distant streams;
yet the thaws I sought
bore deluded dreams …
... tepid dreams,
to which I shan't return –
surely not whilst this heart
thirsts and yearns ...

... yesterday morning ...
slowly ... and with cautious intent
i nestled beside your naked form
desirous to present my unsheathed chest
as a pillow to which you'd warm
i peeled away and cursed the quilt
that had coddled you all evening long
and slid beneath it surreptitiously
rejoicing as we thronged
our skins then met and did melt together
as if meant to merge as one
and your velvet cheek finally fell upon me
and with my breast became a sum
and for one eternal moment the earth did shudder
whilst my heart turned flush and heaved ...

They share a roof,
yet nothing else;
beneath two ceilings,
They dream alone.
Each had succumbed to slumber
in
singularity,
perhaps [*?*], yet, yearning
for ...
The Other's hand ...

warmth to radiate
in a tandem so tender --
Corpora combined ...

m o m e n t u m
Still and silent,
this jilted heart:
momentum gone--
no spark to start.
Tense and tight,
this parch'ed throat:
wizening spurn
that squelched My troat.
Fingers forfeit
this empty hand:
with naught to touch,
the sense does strand.
Embraced no more,
this hollow chest:
no cheek to ease,
nor palm to rest.
Limp and longing,
these pining limbs:
lorn, they lack, like
church without hymns.
Begrudg'ed breaths
do feed these lungs:
words departed;
last song was...

a lesson in crime

which way to go
but I haven't got a place to live

blind
if only for today I will play
