Hidden Treasure
I took a beach trip a few years ago, the trip didn't go as planned and we ended up having to come home earlier than expected.
However, there were great moments within the disasterous vacation.
One morning, we decided to get up early and watch the sunrise, as we made our way down to the sand, I noticed an older man metal detecting. Now, I LOVE metal detecting and trompsing around old houses and searching creek beds for lost and forgotten treasures.
So I decided to be nosey and ask the fella if he was having any luck.
I introduced myself and instantly bombarded him...

Locusts Plauging My Heart
I love the sound of locusts.
Most people hate them, but they remind me of my childhood.
When the mid day heat sweltered, the hay, ready to be cut, swaying in a hot summer breeze, an ocean of white tassels.
The smell of the field when the chaff floated through the air to gather in the crease of your arms and hair...nose. As we tossed bales into the barn loft.
The new grass that lay beneath panting for rain.
Waiting....patiently.
Then there they were, their chatter crescendoing into a a song of unison, letting you know the dog days of summer...

Sing To Your Flowers
Birds sing in the early mornings, and when they do, a flower or plants stomata (the mouth) open and exchange gas for oxygen. I wonder, are they singing too?
Lovely to learn...
Lovely to learn...

No Dross
I found a ring for a quarter at a garage sale.
Facets holding crushed turquoise set within a silver band.
One wave of red, one wave of blue.
Surprisingly, when I looked it up it's worth fifty bucks.
I could flip it, sell it.
However, I like it, so I'm gonna wear it instead.
And when all the girls are showing off their diamonds, I'm gonna flaunt my quarter of a dollar silver.
Top that Miss Priss!
