I am a beginner in writing poems. The poems that I write all reflect personal experiences that I've gone through.

Rain
I love it when the sky rains,
It lets me cry without people knowing.
I cry out all my fears, anger, disappointments.
You can’t tell where the rain drops end and where my tears begin.
I let the rain carry away all my worries.
Any doubt, anger, hatred, sadness,
I let it all out with the rain.
Without rain, I don’t know how else to express myself.
I don’t want to put my emotional burden on anyone else.
I rather keep it to myself, only letting it out when it gets too much.
I would rather feel pain, than all these emotions.

The Four Seasons Of Love
First day of spring, spent sitting at the beach
A girl with ocean blue eyes walked on by
Our eyes met and knew it’s within reach
There’s a connection, no one could deny
Second week of summer, I called you mine
Promised you all of me now and alwags
Our love burn bright and the stars all aligned
Talked our future; how she would stay forever
Third day of autumn, things have clearly changed
You say you love me; your eyes tell the truth
We used to be so close, now we're estranged
Our fleeting love can be blamed on our youth

His Own Fallen Angel
She was the owner of a heart of gold;
He was the owner of the purest soul.
She was an angel living in Heaven;
He was just a person living on earth.
She was well aware of who this man was;
He was clueless that an angel watched him.
She was drawn to him, spent her days thinking
That one day he will notice her presence.
He always felt that someone or something
Was watching over him, protecting him.
She was finally feeling brave enough
To appear to him while he sleeps at night.
He was captivated, after just one

The Art Of The Fight Dance
The music, the culture
The dance and the fighting
Singing in Portuguese
Playing the instruments
The culture and the
Traditions we have.
The acrobatic moves
The kicks and the takedowns
The camaraderie between
All the capoeiristas
Can be felt regardless
Of the distance between
Us. Our bothers and our
Sisters are located
All around the world, in
Many different countries.
We are never alone.

Salve my fellow comrades.
This art form saved my soul,
My sanity and my
Faith in humanity.

To Hell And Back Again
I have travelled to Hell and back
Seen my sanity shift and crack
Lucky enough to see the light
Guiding me through the darkest nights
I walk among the dark shadows
All my flaws are being exposed
I turn to faith and start to pray
Hoping I won't be led astray
I claw my way up from Hell's gates
For some strange reason I cheat fate
I look and see how far I've come
All these things I have overcome
My body is riddled with scars
They are the start of my memoir
THe scars show my past, where I've been
Unmentionable things I've seen
But...

Mirror, Mirror
Who do you see?
I see someone
Staring at me.
Mirror, Mirror
What do you see?
I see all their
Darkest fears and
Deepest desires.
Their hopes and dreams
Exposed fully
To me without
Reservations.
Mirror, Mirror
Can you see my
Future? Please tell me
What I have to
Look forward to.
I can't see your
Future. But I can
See into your past
By looking through
Your eyes. I see
A life of pain
And suffering.
Full of lies and
cheats and deceit.
But I also
See the demons ...

A Dream
I can feel your heart beat right next to mine.
Our hands that are forever intertwined.
Her voice calls for me in the darkest nights.
She becomes the sole purpose and my light.
I rather keep fueling this fantasy,
Then deal with being the sole casualty.
She told me what we had was just a dream.
If so, she's the best I have ever seen.
But I need to remember that nightmares
Are dreams too. She has caught me in a snare.
When a sweet dreams turns into something bad.
It might be time to let go and be glad.
The pain will only last for a moment.

Take A Look Around
The endless number of people walking past each other on the streets
Some of these faces are lit by the backlight of their phones
While others have their headphones in, tuning the world out
Rarely do we try and make contact with the people around us
Even though we are surrounded by people, we are all alone
What happened to the days of honest conversations with your neighbours?
When friends get together at dinner and would enjoy each other's company
Instead of burying our faces in our phones, updating our social media
Snapchatting or posting on Instagram pictures...

Ocean Side Thoughts
Sitting by the dyke all alone overlooking the airport's runway
Tuning the world out with my headphones in, thinking my day away
Watching the planes carry the different passengers to another land
Some travel with a purpose while others travel without a plan
All these jumbled thoughts running through my complicated mind
The exact thoughts that I've tried so hard to leave behind
Sometimes I feel like I'm shrouded in complete darkness
In order to protect myself, I feel like I need to be heartless
Looking around us and seeing nothing but liars and cheats...
Tuning the world out with my headphones in, thinking my day away

True Connection
I never believed in love at first sight
But this time everything just feels so right
You calm me down when no one else can
I don't even know when this whole thing began
When I read your texts I get a smile on my face
Your smile makes my heart leap out of place
I used to have bad cravings every single day
But you came and made them all go away
You came, you saw and you conquered my heart
I'm willing to join you and play my part
I can't believe I've fallen so madly in love
You're like my personal angel sent from above
