Cloud
Floating gracefully and high above
Like gods of grace and cerulean love
Shaped and carved from clouds of mist
All chiseled, toned and niveous
But as light peeks beneath the crest
Each deity shining silver rests
Against the stars, across the moon
Until the call of songbirds' croon

Suboxone
The air is driven from my lungs
The water sizzles off my tongue
Flashes of heat and the talons of cold
All at once, like petals they unfold
Laying here shaking I feel the grasp of death
It's like I can smell the devil's breath
As my blood curdles into milk of the poppy
And I curl up into a ball of sweat sobbing

Profound longing
It is as though all the light has gone
and now the air escapes me
since you have left with the setting sun
and left a space that's gaping
Now every time I think of you
I feel the thing that's missing
across the fields of shining dew
deep in your pocket beating
