The Girl
That girl in the mirror
Showed me:
The shadows on her face.
The wrinkles that grow with time.
The devil in her eyes.
The lies in her smile.
The things she hides, behind long lashes of black.
The venom she spews from her radioactive mouth.
The loneliness that grips her.
The sadness that stabs her.
The scars she cloaks herself in.
The words that slit her open.
The lies that pour into her open wounds.
The names she believes they should call her.
The open pores filled with rage.
The tender lips she longs to love with.
The sorrow that...

The Anchor
I want to swim
But I've tied myself to the anchor
I want to fight
But my vision's blurring
I want to breath
But this water's slowly killing me
I want to taste the air again
But salt water greets my lungs
I pull on the ropes
But I've tied the knots tight
I want to live

Monster War
How?
How are they still arguing?
It's been hours.
It's Three in the morning.
I can't sleep.
Voices echoing
Harsh words
Bouncing off each hard surface
Door muffling them
Shielding me from them
Hiding me away
Dreaming of being somewhere new
Pretending I can't hear them screaming.
Head phones blaring,
Over the happy voices in them
The monsters out side my door rages.
They wage war outside my door
The clashes of their verbal swords ring clear
Deafening war cries are heard
They're on the battle field swinging wild...
How are they still arguing?
It's been hours.

I'm a Ship Wreak
I'm a Ship Wreak
Un-fixable
A hole in the Hull
The masts shattered
The life boats, splinters
I rest
At the bottom of the Sea
Rusting
Un-fixable
A worthless hunk of wood
In this dark cold water
Never feeling the Sun's warmth again
No wind in my sails
The Ocean is my only friend
Un-fixable
And broken
I'll stay hidden away
In the dark Sea, Forgotten.
Un-fixable

Time Will Tell
This lighter burned deeper holes in my lungs than first thought
The wounds still wide open and gushing
So many thoughts drifting aimlessly around my head
Scars, show through all the masquerades I keep putting on
All the kind words everyone said hopelessly trying to change my direction
I trek deeper hoping it will soon just be a distant memory
I can’t help but keep getting side tracked off the path
The old familiar trail seems so hard to forget
No matter how much encouragement everyone keeps giving me
I keep stumbling back onto this worn path
I’ve gone...

Comfortably Numb
The embers burn bright like sun shining through a cloud
The ash rains down like snow, gently muffling.
The scent of it intoxicating everything it touches.
As you gently breathe it in,
Fire coming closer to your lips
Playing Russian roulette as it gets closer with each breath
But you don’t care.
You can see it in your eyes as they glaze over
You don’t mind if it burns you
The ash snow gently litters your clothes
Your mouth full of smoke with each exhale
It softly rolling off your tongue and into the atmosphere
Escaping everything that goes on...
