POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
With mirth and laughter let old wrinkles come.
Wreaths
I pretend to be cheerful
smiling as I wake up
shadows still linger softly
filling up the empty space.
as delicate and bright flowers
placed in vases to slowly die
wreaths at the door for remembrance
during the cold silence of the night
I pretend to be cheerful
I really want to be happy
reveling with each gusts of wind
or the cascades of rain
I feel the whisper of falling petals
the soft sighs of dead falling leaves
saying goodbye to life that was
but you haven't heard my goodbye yet
...

Those were the days
Those were the days
when we laughed and danced
running in sunlit fields
with our head full of dreams
Those were the days
when we didn't care
if our whispers weren't soft
and we didn't pray
Those were the days
when we counted the stars
when our hearts raced
with every adventure
Those were the days
we indulged in endless play
time stood still for us to build
pretty sandcastles everywhere
Those were the days
when our love began
subtle touch and stolen glances

Life and Changes
bring me a chain of posies
needles to sew them with
bring me coins to soothe the eyes
and a piece of handkerchief
sing me a soft lullaby
to make me go to sleep
to go towards the bye and bye
without ever to count sheep
drink me a glass of cheers
don't be sad or shed tears
the candle will melt away
in the lights of day
needles to sew them with
bring me coins to soothe the eyes

Fancy That
dark elixir carefully brewed
a ritual when dawn unfold
to smell that and the roses
slowly dying on vases
the fragrance dance in the air
like belly dancers' tantalising gait
caressing the senses deeply
a lick a sip and everything's great
Coffee like dreams taking flight
carefully traversed on the morning light.

Just Because
just because I feel so blue
when I get a headache and sneeze
doesn't mean I will infect you
by blowing bubbles in a kiss
just because I have the flu
staying in bed under the blankets
doesn't mean I will drink the brew
that keeps me awake to fidget
just because I look unkempt
smelling like yesterday's tea
it doesn't mean I didn't attempt
to make myself a little pretty
just because I am a good listener
and answer you with polite laughter
it doesn't mean I don't want you
to listen to me too

Scribbles
shades of pink and a little indigo
a ribbon tied on wayward hair
a child's laughter a sun's halo
a leaf falling from mother tree
these sights bring tranquility
deep in my thoughts and memory
a distant past when all seemed free
of anger fear of failure living happily
missing the days when I ran free
on bunds crisscrossing fields of paddy
I wish I could feel the freshness
invigorating air before buses and cars
they're gone with the chimes of time
disappeared into the books of then
closed encyclopedia just...

Hiker's Untold Tale
hikers glee to see nature
at its very best scenery
serene and tranquil the jungle
except for calls of birds
he wandered deeply delighted
when he saw a cottage in the meadow
so beautifully quaint he gasped
with admiration of its picturesque
flowers surrounded the cottage
leafy plants so colourful
he knocked at the door
and a voice answered
"come in my dear and stay for a while
come in, join me as I'm just having tea
do come in, young man I like your style
but can you tell me the month and year' ...

The Woodpeckers
two brothers in a distant woodland lived
a bird duke named Sir Woody Woodpecker
and his handsome brother Wordy
but all they did was bicker
they used to share a nest
with their tired exhausted parents
were they glad when the brothers flew
Mr and Mrs Woodpecker celebrated with many pints
The two brothers didn't see eye to eye
they couldn't agree on anything
they fought noisily, with much enmity
they slapped each other with their wings
Woody the noble was very nice
believed in joy and love and endless embrace ...

Oral History
Oral history of my tribe
stories told and tales passed down
told in hush tone whispered
oral history we hold dear
alphabets were unknown
history was told through tales
some in long intricate chants
most in narratives from the wise
the elders knew of the ancient lore
understood the taboos and law
through their parents and grandparents
and they from the generations before
we travelled from our troubled land
after the hills were no longer fertile
and the tribal wars began to escalate
through jungles...

Where Do I Begin
let me weave a tale for you people of 3080
of our world long gone path of which lead to now
listen well and pay attention tomorrow's children
heed the whispers of the past a tale of long ago
before the years of your present was where I reside
a time when everything such as love and life intertwined
there was both marvels and joy and divide
we discovered technological marvels cherished
we reveled in our ingenuity lighting the streets
we danced in synchronized trance so enchanted
with virtual realities in our every day...

The Storm Within
what can she say when a storm within
the depths of her heart had started to grow
the cold touches of betrayal begin to descent
in her complacency and trust so sure
the twenty years of togetherness
gone in a minute like a train crash
nothing seemed to make sense
gone now the security just love unsure
hubby dear so handsome so faithful
had tasted the forbidden fruit of outside love
embraced the lovemaking on a strange bed
tasted the ambrosia and varieties of excitement
now he chose to stray and play hard ...

Storms of an Evening
standing there watching the darkened sky
feeling the cold breeze as stormy clouds gather
at the balcony I watched as the wind showed its fury
picking up strength it roared through the air
I stood there watching the lightning strike
far in the distance ready to come near
smell of ozone as storming grew in might
the thunder roared as if challenging twilight
I wonder at the fearsome thunderstorm
admired the might of a thunderstorm's embrace
they were such a mesmerising sight
like misplaced neon lights dancing in space
