POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
With mirth and laughter let old wrinkles come.
The Quest
Against the wall once again
I looked towards the sun
The burning orb that led the way
For all my sorrow and tribulations
For it was said in our ancient tales
The path to freedom was towards the setting sun
So I travelled for many days
Within the weeks in many months
To find that freedom told
By griots and shamans and bards of old
For freedom was bought by nothing
But yellow metals called gold
There I stand with thoughts chagrined
For nothing was there to see
But wasteland created
By hardship and famine

At the Crossroads
Fields of roses
Shouts of laughter
A smeary fingerprint
On printed wallpapers
They remind me of you
Whispered words of love
Tightened hands on arms
A light overhead
Misty morning kisses
Here you are lying
Still without a noise
Breathing through tubes
Inserted into your nose
No laughter on your lips
Just pressed together so pale
Your eyelashes against your cheeks
Without a flicker
You are still so still
The tubes will come out this morning
The doctor says I should stop mourning
You have been gone too long...

Condemned
Hail Jury, Hail Judge
You said I did it
That I killed him
I did not do it
He did it in his own
He swallowed his own poison
He lied to me
He said he loved me
But I caught her with him
They were on my bed
They were committing adultery
That is a sin isn’t it?
It has been said
Cut off the hands that offend you
Poke out the eyes that see
and sin with lust
do not steal nor covet
Your neighbour’s wife
You should set me free Judge
For I have done justice
More than you have ever done
I have carried...

Insanely insane II
I feel them crawling under my skin
They are like an army of ants
They are little wriggleys
They crawl under my skin
I see them making little tunnels
In my living flesh
They are short stubby maggots
With human faces
I scratch them
Scrap them out of my skin
Using a paring knife
They wriggle out with my blood
But they are millions of them
They don’t all flow out
Some cling on my jagged wounds
And crawl right in again
I scream as they bore in
I cut them out with a knife
I burn them with matches ...

St.Whore
Hey whore how much
Do you charge
By the day or by the hour
May I have a discount
I only need a blowjob
Stupid whore
Hey whore do you like my bike
Its sleek and strong, just like my dick
Hey you should know
You have serviced all dicks in town
You have seen all colours
Dirty whore
Hey ….errr
You saved my life today
From drowning in the village pond
I was so drunk
My wife threw me out
I could not pay the rent
Hey Grace, your name is Grace?
You have nurtured me to life ...

Iris, the rainbow dancer
Comb my hair of morning gold
Braided with beauty that unfolds
Like dawns blush light
Before the cold
Of winter sets upon the cloud
Travel I so across the world
Of here and there and manifold
To send messages to man and gods
By the band of colours
That ribbons misty skies
I do in fond recall
Remember full flights
In the arms of my beloved
Zephyrus
Warm embraces and gentle caresses
While we fly through the western sky
Towards the east and to the north

Anathematised
You have been excommunicated
Because you have abdicated
Your right in this church
By marrying out of the faith
Unclean
Your application
Have been rejected
These scholarships are for those
Who are truly native
You don’t belong
Your wares have been rejected
I don’t care if you lose your money
The foods cooked by your hands are not kosher
No we cannot eat them
They are impure
No your child cannot be baptised
She is born out of wedlock
No she cannot play with my child
She is born from...

Woman, wine and a little bit more
Yes darling love me more
Touch me a little bit there
While I stroke you here
Ah yes your lovely shaft
The beautiful rod of love
Give it to me hard
Do you feel me now
Am I tight and slippery
Do I make you feel loved
Am I good with this rhythm
Do you feel the sweet coming
In your shiver of anticipation
You feel drowsy my love
Do you feel tired now
Would you like to lay down
And rest your pretty head
While you fondle my breasts
As you go into slumber
What is that my darling

My parents’ parenting skill
They say don’t run
Or you will fall
And scrap your knee
But its not fun
To sit still
Better to climb a tree
Don’t climb
You are a girl
Have some manners
Sit with your skirts folded
With your eyes downcast
No, don’t suck your thumb
Do your homework
Don’t be stuck in a story book
You must get good grades
You must go to college
Not too soon to talk about it
I know you are only eight
Don’t spit
I know that boy hit you
Just walk away
You will get hurt
If you retaliate ...
Or you will fall

Black Laces and Grace
Black laces
Over white skin
So grandmamma
Like going to churches
Walking in hushed repentance
Black laces over pale faces
Black laces over grey hair
Curled tight over the head
Aged women expecting the end
Bowed heads before the altar
Black laces over pert breasts
Tight on skin goosebumped
With hot desire
Little patches seen between
Intricate black laces lashes
Desire of molten lava
Ready to explode from volcanoes
Shimmering under thin gauzy restrains
Towards the hairy triangle
Evokes needy swells beneath
...

The Beginning of the End
Tear filled eyes
Gazing at the sunlit skies
Through the open window
Trembling hands on wet cheeks
The pain is bad today
The bald woman whispers
Perhaps it’s the beginning of the end
Unsteady hands holding pills
Red and white capsules
Gulping it down with crystal
Clear water
Down her throat they did go
To float around
To dull the pain
Lying down on sweat drenched bed
Gazing at walls of mounted photographs
Her eyes are not so sharp anymore
But they see where her beloved smile
Benignly at her from the photographs...

Spectral Visitors
Move the mist from faraway
Creeps eager on green meadows
Fingers laces through the trees
Of vivid dreams and fantasies
Of warriors and kings
Maidens and queens
Love and betrayals
And Kingdom lost
The tale unwind
From within the mind
The sinuous shadows unfurled
The white papers riffled
By spectral hands
That wishes to share
Their tales of yore
To tell before your warm fire
But who will dare
To listen more
To whispery voices
And groaning complaints
Of stories past that went untold
Unshared from then...
