Poet Introduction

Star Crossed II
By Souladareatease and Grace
HERO:
Boreas’ tantrum fills the dusk
Roars of anger, what ails he
Perchance bitter of Leander
Love of my heart, my passion
Lending surcease to my burning
Kindled by thirst for carnal bliss
LEANDER:
Beckoning light in Turquoise Tower
beacon so bright, the purposed night
Stands land opposite Hope
Heart of heart, soul of Soul
Wind blow of wicked cold
Poseidon, keep me from waters deep
HERO;
The day grows late
On this window, my candle bright ...

Holding Hands
Holding hands, bound with love
Cherishing the touch
The headline with the heart
The fingers clasped
Tightly snuggled together
silent pledges
Holding hands, guiding
Together, never to be lost
Turn, and togetherness
Like spoons in a drawer
The touches that assure
The affirmations
Holding hands, paired fingers
Entwined to last
To the end of the road
Towards home…
Safety in the threshold
Of familiarity.

Do you even Remember
Do you even remember
The trees falling over from
Your mighty axe
As we clean the land
For our homestead
Do you even remember
The glow of the fire
On our faces
As we spoke of our dreams
To live off the land
Do you even remember
Our pledge to toil
On fertile loamy ground
To tie the sheaves
To jump the broom
Do you even remember me
Who wiped your brow
Who slaked your thirst
Who nursed your hurts
Who gave you comfort
I am still here
A shadow of your past
As you are...

Despite it all
Despite my laugh
My rambunctious roar
Of mirth and happy gurgles
Despite my dancing in
Purple haze of joy
The deeper me
Is just grey
Despite the gaiety of it all
The dancing at the ball
The flirtatious gait
The party fox
Despite it all
I am just
Grace
So judge me not for this
My ever happy laughter
Think me not a clown
Hoping for the applause
from a crowd of revellers
I too have many thoughts
Of me, you and all of them
Despite it all
My rambunctious roar
Of mirth and happy gurgles
Despite my dancing in

Star Crossed I

HERO: Oh..what lips upon me breathe
of Elysium sails past
Quivering lips of Thanatos
vanquished by such softness
robbed Hyacinth’s allure away
LEANDER: lips of our met breath
that rises to life, light again
embrace and to hold, slow
thy hand do I take, from
sleeps grasp forsaken lake

In Search Of
Read the piece
On magic books
To find or seek
The magic spells
Of potions known
and yet unseen
for peace on earth
Good will to Men
Flitting headaches
Magic songs
Chanted by priestess
Long ago
In magical isles
With howling gales
Druids chant and chant they still
Yet secret potions it stayed lost
Never will mortal find
the piece of peace
For lost it is until one cease
To seek the silvery kerchief
On another’s sleeve
The powdered wigs
are long gone
on height with those who till the land

Kisses
Through lips the essence
Becomes essence of one
In the kiss of kisses
Breathing graceful souls
Together entwine within;
The kisses make blithe spirits
One, contained within
Kisses within the darkest
Of grasping, ripping of passions
Forced essence with rods
Channelling dominations
Gripping hands in demand
Subservient in hard might
Within golden circles
Kisses of the slyest
Like the bright dawn
illuminating the world
Dancing lights on flowers
Promises of forever
breeze caressing cheeks
transient,...

Silence
A lone pulsing heart
In a bed of silence
Nobody is breathing
Except what rhymes
With the sounds
Of me
Gauzy curtains
Falling flat unmoving
Against an open window
To the dark night
About to reach out to dawn
Attend to me
No words
No sounds
No echoes
The world seems silent
As it turns
Except my sigh.

Loneliness
Songs of the wind
Soughing through softly
Drizzles of rain, misty
air shrouding tree tops
like huddled elders
around an non-existing fire
a lonely discarded piece of paper
move by, pushed by the wind
dragging feet on leaves strewn
path, going towards nowhere
beginning from when
hands holding shawls together
on cold laden shoulder
limp tresses of hair
hugging the cold nap
chilly air loving her hard
Passing by bubbling brooks
Under indifferent trees
Over a bridge without its trolls
No billy goat at the...

Grace's Morning
In the forest
A tree fell
A bang a crash
A falling thump
Silence reigned
Then the birds twittered
In excitement
A little animal squealed
Another ran away
Leaving rustles on its wake
Across the pond
A lone frog jumped
For a jolly swim
Among the lily pads
A fish jumped up
To catch a morsel
While a yellow butterfly
Fluttered languidly by
I basked in the light
Of the morning sun
Java fragrance from afar
Nostalgia lured hearts
Needing a whole cuppa
with warmth of distant smiles.

Lemon Grass
Fragrance of citrus
Delectable curry
Sparkles of gold
On spicy gravy
Lemongrass
Citrus flavoured tea
A challenge to the bud
Sweat steam out
Fever from the ill
Its lemongrass
Ben Gurion University
Says cancer cells dive
Down shrivel and die
When it is drank

My Sixth Sense
They say …
They say I am crazy
Cos I told them
I saw Grandma at the well
Bring up the water
For her washing
When I know full well she died
Twelve years ago
Before I was born
They say…
I am irrational
When I told them
I have spoken to myself
When I was sick in bed
But sitting beside me
And floating on the air
While a nurse and a doctor
Was reviving me
They say
I am mad
When I told them
The door to the other side
Was like a flashing neon light
In the flowery glade
Behind the house
I...
