POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
Poetry is my voice for change. I have 12 kids with my husband of 22 years. The poetry I write comes from books, movies, and most of all, from my life. Finally squeezed out of me by my nature like a long held breath.
GIW - Back Off
I have to beg for everything like a damn dog!” Willy poses like Scooter, begging.
Heather finally relents. “Oh, fine, Willie. Here.”
Heather tosses the little pig his consolation prize. It didn't take human words for her to see how disappointed he looked.
Before any more treats can mysteriously go missing Ben bursts into the kitchen in a clearly “gotcha” kind of way.
“Just stop it, Heather.”
With innocent, wide eyes meant to disarm she crooned sweetly, “What? Can't Willy have snacks sometimes, too?”

Dear Daddies - Never High Enough
This will be one of my last." Coughing cut the sentence short.
Bet you thought I was talking about puffing weed. That's a setup. I'm talking about walls you build. You *could* apply it to getting high, since it's just another kind of protective wall. I say that with no judgement.
There's nothing wrong with walls, Daddies. Even a psychoactive wall. But let's be clear where the walls should end.
"I don't like your writing."
"I don't like your life insurance policy."
Those are weird walls. But they are walls, too.
"Well, I wish...

YOPJ - In My Tower
The alpha wolf has taken an unusual mate. His omega female will now enjoy protected status for herself and her cubs." the narrator on my TV screen opined about the featured pack.
"How relatable" I thought to myself.
Ever since I-don't-know-when some people love to be my big sis or bro and look out for me. I was, however, a lone outcast 17 year old who had come where I knew no one at the missionary school when my husband met me. Soon he took on that protective role, too.
Writing has been a sordid affair for us because my writing represents a threat my...

Grannypig in a Web - first taste
Grannypig in a Web
Chapter 1
“Here, Scooter! You are adorable when you overeat! Good boy!” said a little freckled, messy girl with bed-head in pajamas, holding a half-empty glass of orange juice in her hand, to the golden retriever seated in front of her. He sat next to his little pet pig who was equally interested in what was going on.
She tosses Scooter another biscuit.
“Woof!” Scooter catches it mid air, chewing energetically.
“Nooo!” Squeals Willy. “That's 5...

YOPJ - For My Writing Friends
I hope to write a book one day, too."
This is my first stab at helping everyone who has said this to me.
You surely ARE writing your book today. All you have to do is look back and study your unfinished plot line. You already do you. You write what you know. People wanting to know you and what you know and feel just need those thoughts in a bound collection one day. Wouldn't it be kind of cool if everyone had a beautiful biography or two available for reading? What goes into your bio is completely under your control. It's the parts of you that you want the world...

An Agent or Publisher Would be Good!
People are stepping forward lately to encourage my writing. I think 3-4 people in the past 24 hours alone, including direct suggestions I publish whole books. I want to. I've even started to. Only four are for sale on Amazon but 2 more are essentially done, and 4+ more are well started.
I haven't even started marketing. I need to show my husband my base of support which is starting to show, first, because we have ten children under 21 to pay for, including paying for a third set of braces recently. In short, my writing is highly speculative.

Dear Daddies - Young, Innocent Fathers
I don't want them worrying about how it's going to go. It can turn out all kinds of ways... don't overthink it." The seasoned father of ten tells young family men starting out.
I asked him for you. Some of you reading will be my sons. Some of you will be in-laws or friends of my children. Many of my readers might even belong to younger generations I might never personally meet. I think first of those fathers I know or believe I will know.
In general, to me my husband is the most important reader of this book. I also plan to republish after my anticipated resurrection...

Dear Daddies - Magical
You wanna see a magic trick?" he says as he shuffles the deck.
"Sure!" She enthused.
"Then watch a magician!"
Gaffaws and joking continued. There WAS magic in that silliness, Daddy with his two girls, 12 and 13.
I watch my young ladies playing Blackjack with their daddy near midnight, which they invited me into and I declined, in favor of snack-making and babysitting, while partially staying close by - while I write for you in my head.
Later I'm on my bed with a tiny sleepy-head and the...

Dear Daddies - All of you
Jessi, I feel like part of me is good, and part of me is not.." My dad explained to me. He never reached a state of self content peace. At least not that I know, because he and I sort of had a falling out. If he didn't like my theological point and seemed out of arguments, it inevitably got confusingly ugly, because I argued that he was or could be ALL good.
Because he never believed me, he never owned the most powerful parts of himself. His story breaks my heart over and over; the ending seemed lonely and far too soon.
I've been talking to a good man who doesn't want...

Dear Daddies - Mammafactured Opposition
She's a traitor, and that's why." A man said about his own precious adult daughter, hearing from a third party how she disrespected and back-stabbed her own mother habitually as a teenager. Such triggering information is hard to absorb.
If your wife is attacked by your own child, the child she birthed for you, it will not be easy, or even possible for you to be okay with that kid, if my personal observations mean anything. It's not easy to get along with anyone like that, let alone your own seed.
Is it your fault? Who will ever know if you contributed...

Dear Daddies - Do I look Successful in This?
If your dad looks in the mirror, adjusts himself and asks you this question, calmly proceed to the nearest exit. Maybe feign diarrhea. Whatever you do, do not answer the question!
There's nothing wrong with being fat or successful.
The point is, not to be a prick; winners are mostly unsuccessful. Winners probably lose more than losers. I'm not talking about weight loss. I'm talking about success loss.
Counting your successes is depressing and doesn't represent you as the winner that you are. It's way too much like counting calories. Your best wins don't...

Dear Daddies - Holding Worlds
You think too little of your value and too much of your troublemaking." I flatly told him after a vulnerable moment.
I make trouble, the kids make trouble, and we all know we are worth the steep cost of doing business, I hope! If we don't, we have massive problems. Well, news flash, Daddies, same is true of you.
There is no upgrading for a better daddy model once we have him. I'm not saying it's impossible to do under any circumstances, but it's worse than sawing off a leg to get another part sewn on, in terms of emotional trauma to the whole family.
