POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
Here lie some words. They will be remembered.
I Am Here
I am here sitting on this bed of dreams, kissing soft lips of hope. Watching your beautiful mind unfold.
A slender arm extending to unknown heights, the other latched softly on to me.
I am here as you lay down the map of your infinite future and mark out you're route.
I stand and watch as the gentle cloud that surrounds me slowly drifts away. I am left here.
Watching my shiny penny of hope fall down the wishing well.

Water Sleeps
Water sleeps beneath its blanket of empty sky.
The wind will stir its peaceful slumber
Affections tender waves may advance, but the doubting shore will always keep them at bay.
They crash against the face of the cliff, calling out "Come down O maid!"
Like hounds on the trail of Tennyson, they pound the rocky path of time.
Water will leap and stretch, reaching for its love, the star upon a sparkling spire.
But will fall forevermore
The wind will stir its peaceful slumber
Affections tender waves may advance, but the doubting shore will always keep them at bay.
They crash against the face of the cliff, calling out "Come down O maid!"
Like hounds on the trail of Tennyson, they pound the rocky path of time.
Water will leap and stretch, reaching for its love, the star upon a sparkling spire.
But will fall forevermore

Darkness Always Comes
In the morning sun, shadows play
To remind us darkness always comes.
Though your smile may blaze, it's seen through your hairs shade
To remind me darkness always comes.
Your face became the moon as it turned away
To remind me darkness always comes.
To remind us darkness always comes.
Though your smile may blaze, it's seen through your hairs shade
To remind me darkness always comes.
Your face became the moon as it turned away
To remind me darkness always comes.

Dreams of Cowardice
Don't wake me now, this fantasy is one that I would cling to.
Let me sleep with my head on the bosom of cowardice, and deny the waking world my perverted bravery
Don't wake me now, but if you must torment me so, wake also this heart unable to regret its sins. Wake that which let me forgive with ease when I was a child, and put to bed this wretched clarity.
I won't open my eyes to what is, let me lay instead in the arms of these comforting lies. Dreams are the home of what could be, your grasping hands will wake me in a haunted house of couldn't be's.

Silent Music
Do you hear the music?
It plays its rhythm in the cry of a child.
It tinkles in the leaves of a mighty tree like a piano's keys.
It whispers of life around the dead, of pride near the sleeping wolf where it lies.
It talks of madness to a grieving mother, of eternity to a newfound lover
The world is full of bittersweet melodies, but I was deaf.
I never felt their soothing breeze, was caught in the emptiness of me.
Yet I never heard the strings of silence
as they screamed.

Umbrella (shape poetry)
Umbrella
Will you be my umbrella
Can you be a shelter for my soul
Why you say, do I still walk the storm
Why
Can
You
Let
One

Die

Unknown Path
Down unknown paths we walk, on and on relentless. Monotony never ending, existences apparently eventless. Eyes glazed as vistas roll past in a dream, seemingly endless. Hoping the next hill is were we take our rest, we go on and on searching for the best , rejecting anything short of absolute perfection
Why are we so persistent, insistent that there is always something more lying in wait, never pausing for reflection, yet we struggle for meaning, what little there is we fail in gleaning. On and on through the generations, what plagues us is ever rising expectations, always leaving us...

Solace Is Between Your Legs
I'll seek my solace between your legs
And lay all my troubles at your door
You can drink up my life's last dregs
While you lift me gently from the floor
You can do what he taught you
And I'll try to forget what I used to know
While I contemplate what I'm reduced to, you still hope theres room for my love to grow
You probably think we could have it all, but honey I'll always be that lonely star. I'm just looking for material.
Only I can know how close you came but I'm best experienced from afar, or you'll end up the same. The only thing you might gain...

I'll Make It So
I'll be the new Gandhi
I'll make it so everything's fine and dandy
I'll make it so children don't ever cry
I'll make it so nobody ever looks up and wonders why
I'll make it so no one goes hungry
I'll make it so nobody ever dies
I'll make it so everyone always smiles
I'll make it so nobody ever cries

Inspiration
It's London, cold and foggy
He can't tell what woke him, maybe it was the sound of foxes
He thinks as he looks out, thoughts groggy, past the condensation, and starts to wander at life's paradoxes. At least it's not York for gods sakes, But it's no New York, what a difference the 'new' makes, he thinks as he starts to wake, marvelling at his own powers of observation. But what a difference the view would make!
Coffee clearing the cobwebs from his mind, as his hand wipes the frozen ones from his car, preparing for the daily grind. Thinking on what surprises the day may...

Somewhere
I tried to do something with a little more structure than I usually do, not sure exactly what the structure is though...,
Your still smiling somewhere
While Calling me a prick somewhere
Under a rainbow somewhere
Somewhere the sun will always shine
I think i'll find you someday
I'll have to leave everything behind someday
And join you, under a rainbow somewhere
Somewhere were we'll fit in fine
I can imagine what you'll say
I've missed you, you'll say
As I join you, under a rainbow somewhere
Somewhere we'll share one more glass...

My Letter To Little Big Sis
I don't like going to your grave
I'm sorry, I always was a shitty brother and that hasn't changed. Between me and the world you were my rope. I still pray for you though when I lost you I lost my faith, you finally being happy is my biggest hope. And though I'm now the same age as you when you passed, you'll always be my little big sis and that rage, thankfully didn't last. It's been two years and still most days I wake in tears, the hole you left is too big too fill. I cried the day you told me about your illness, the beginning of my sorrow was obviously painful to witness. But you...
