Like a rock he stood in front of her
determined and strong minded
His body a true masterpiece
a statue of divine creation
Safe arms that longed to hold her

The delicate taste
of your nostalgic being
The unbearable darkness
of your melancholic soul
You chase my spirit
through desolate nights
Armed with my memories
my regrets and my loss
Dressed as a flower
you stab me with thorns
Leaving bittersweet scars
in my wounded heart
Tired from the battle
I try to leave you behind

too painful for eyes to see
