I rarely venture out looking for inspiration. Given the nature of some of my work and the process in which it was created i'd rather not look for anymore reasons to go flailing around my house talking to myself.

Thank God and Thank You
It's a curious thing when people drift apart.
I recall the times that were had, the joyful times and the sorrowful.
Times of hope and also of despair .
Although not all good, they were Our times.
Then, as if with the wave of a wand, memories, memories are all that remain.
Time passed on and yet my heart grew ever fonder but the pain grew harder.
Then came a day when, God I suppose, saw my suffering and sent you back into my life to drive the sorrow from my heart and fill me with joy anew.
Now all I can say is,...

Flint and Steel
They were the flint and steel that came together and struck a spark that landed in that dismel, sodden moss of my being.
That spark found the dry moss and began to smolder. Can I grow the smolder to a flame?
I pray that I can.

The Beasts Burden
It starts with a dull hum in the distance.
Louder and louder again! Roaring now. The great beasts approach.
Slow. Lumbering they are. Their immense size and power leave no room for being quiet.
Despite their bulk, they maneuver almost effortlessly in the tightest of spaces.
They spread their great legs to gain a firmer stance while men fuss around them like tiny ants.
Their powerful arms extend skyward. Further and further aloft.
So high, one might fear them breaching the floor of heaven.
The beasts' burden lies before...

A Fathers Promise
Come sit with me a while.
Tell me about yourself.
There was a time not too long ago when I knew more about you than you knew about yourself.
These days I barely know either of us.
Tell me a story in the way you do.
Youthful, hyperactive ramblings of excitement.
You talk so fast you can’t even keep up with yourself and we laugh together as we try and figure out what you were just talking about.
Show me your hobbies.
What do you like to do? Childish knowledge of every shiny little trinket you own pours out of you with...

Who's The Crazy One?
Another hotel.
Another night of drowning in a cesspool of alcohol, cigarettes , lust and loneliness.
I grow weak, Weary.
My defenses fail and the demons return to sink their burning poisoned claws into my mind.
My heart is infected with fear, envy and hate.
I feel the grip on my sanity weaken.
And then there you were.
Standing there like an angel bathed in holy light.
Beautiful, fucked up, perfect.
I had no idea then that you would inspire, frustrate and smite me.

The pain in your soul was fuel for the fire in my heart.
It nourished my desire to love every broken fragment of you that much more.
You said you would destroy my heart. I said worse than you have tried and failed.
I was wrong .
You were right.
You said I was too good for you. I said I was too good to you because you were too good too me.

Pain was too normal to you.
You feared being OK because you forgot how it felt.

Sad, Beautiful Girl
I could have fallen in love with you.
I could have fallen in love with you, sad beautiful girl.
I could have taken your face in my hands everyday,
Looked into your precious, sapphire eyes and told you
All about your worth to me .
All about every time you looked at me and gave me butterflies.
About that time, out for sushi, when you took my hands in yours
And I lost myself in you. All I could think about was you.
I could have loved you but you ran away.
Scared to be happy I suppose.
Now I sit alone, Listening to "Crystals"...

Defenseless
I am defenseless against you.
I went to bed one night safely protected by the walls of my emotional fortress.
When I awoke, those walls were reduced to rubble,
They no longer existed.
As I gazed across the barren wasteland of desolation and loneliness,
There you were.
Your dark hair, teased by the breeze, your brown eyes thrusting mercilessly into my soul.
And for the first time in my life, I am truly afraid.
You smile gently at me and tears of pure terror stream down my face
As my whole body shakes.
You seem confused. ...

I thought About You
I thought about kissing you today.
I thought about taking your face in my hands
And pulling your lips to mine.
I thought about caressing your mouth with my own.
Pouring everything I am,
Everything I want to be(to you) into you.
I thought about the feel of you soft skin,
The intoxicating aroma of your dark brown hair
And the fiery look in your beautiful grey eyes
As we slowly pulled away from each other.
Then I realized, you were not here.
And I was not there
Only then did I remember to breathe.
I haven't seen you in years, ...
I thought about taking your face in my hands
