POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
Hello, I'm DarkNygtNinja-I love poetry, music, and finding beauty in everything-even negative places. I write my poetry from my heart and soul. That is where truly great poetry comes from-the place within us all where our feelings originate.
To Try Or Not To Try
Alone in darkness,
Lost in shadow,
No light ever found.
The mind is wandering,
The body is tired,
My will has gone underground.
A rain is growing,
The cloud above me is intensifying,
Deathly silence all around.
A future uncertain,
Even the present seeming unknown,
The weight upon my shoulders feels like a million pounds.
Words speak falsely of love,
Actions revealing the true lies,
An existence of torment thusly crowned.
Fighting to stay alive,
Struggling for a breath,
Under constant deception I am...
Lost in shadow,
No light ever found.
The mind is wandering,
The body is tired,
My will has gone underground.

Ole Jack Frost
Lifted by the man in the moon,
From out of a watery tomb,
Gone and away his former life was tossed,
This is the tale of Ole Jack Frost.
As the year gets older,
And the days much colder,
The warmth of summer all but lost,
The season is coming for Ole Jack Frost.
The stars shining bright,
In the wintery night,
Light up the land all across,
For the work of Ole Jack Frost.
His magic cane covered in ice,
Bring snowy days that children find nice,
The chill in the air is the only cost,
When the time has come...

Memoirs of A Knight
There were nights when I felt lost,
And following days when I felt found,
The goal almost not worth the cost,
With so many emotions fully abound.
I sat upon the edge of thought,
In a journey solely my own,
Riding upon a ticket that can't be bought,
While reality appeared overthrown.
Setting adrift in a tossing ship,
Waves continuously heaving,
There was no destination for the trip,
All just a web of imagination's weaving.
My eyes let go of a focal point,
Going on beyond the distance of staring,
The hinges of rationality...

The Path of Darkness
The cobwebs are thick and sticky,
In a feign attempt to block your way,
The heat from your torch's fire quickly subdues them,
A flash of light is seen for a second,
The sword then re-sheathed as the webs give way,
You are on your way to find something long since lost and buried.
The torch's light quickly subdues the consuming dark,
You step cautiously forward into the unknown,
The air is cold, dank, and musty,
A foul scent hangs upon the air as death upon the gallows,
Your breath turns to fog in your face,
As one step continues to...

Curtain Call of Life
The ears are deafened and the hair is burnt black,
An explosion has achieved its fruition,
You're running from something, but don't dare to look back,
A soul on its own road to perdition.
The muscles and motivation are looming on weary,
The energy of your youth is all but spent,
Your eyes are singed from gazing upon nothing but dreary,
The armor you wear is battle-scarred and rent.
All thoughts and dreams are all filled with worry,
Your throat is parched and cotton-dry,
Ambling and hobbling thru the game of life with no hurry,

What The Eyes Behold
My eyes absorb the new landscape,
Taking in all the presented change,
A few trees here and a lot over there,
With a river running thru it seems so strange.
The pupils see the sun,
Yet the skin feels a chill,
The nights are filled with fog,
And life appears at a stand-still.
Then these eyes turn inward,
And often they see a heart so glad,
But other times it's dark and gloomy,
Then in those moments sometimes feeling sad.
I cannot help to wonder,
Where the events of life took the turn,
I had always imagined it being one way,...

Creature of The Dark
From the shadows,
A pair of eyes,
Loom like the gallows,
To seal your demise.
You cannot stop your heart from racing,
An entire body constantly shaking,
The soul feels as if it's ever pacing,
While your form is unceasingly quaking.
An icy chill grips your core,
As if it were a knife thru butter,
You want to scream for no more,
But your words and voice seem separated from each other.
Your life appears to flash before you,
A one-time novel now turned short story,
The scene so much like deja-vu,
The fear within you so...

My Little Princess
My Dear Little Princess,
On the day you were born,
Your daddy must admit,
He was a little forlorn.
There were a few complications,
That no-one could've known,
And not until you arrived,
Were any of them shown.
When you finally came,
You were lacking for air,
Daddy was worried,
But the nurses took great care.
Within a few moments,
You were as right as can be,
And we shared our first moment together,
While I held you close to me.
I sang you a song,
And was sincerely hopin',
You'd like the choice,...

Universal Interior Monologue
There exists a dark void,
Where all the wild goes,
The urge to quiver,
Emotions of strife,
A voice that dares you to play with a knife.
A desire to push at the edge of a cliff,
Or to press against the glass with your head,
A herald to defend,
But you want to run like the wind,
Perhaps go downtown to meet your end.
The little voice calls,
"Jump, I'll catch you",
"Don't worry it won't hurt",
"You'll float not fall",
You just can't seem to shut it out at all.
I know you can hear it,
It's...

Exploring You In Haiku
I am going to
Explore the beauty of you
With naught but Haiku
You are magical
You make my heart skip a beat
You are my true love
Your golden blonde hair
Shines like the rays of the sun
In the midst of spring
Your eyes of bright green
Shine like an emerald sea
From your soul to me
Your lips of deep red
So kissable and loving
I wish for your kiss
A body of curves
A sweet beauty to observe
How I long to touch
How sexy thou art
With a tender golden...

Sickness
Bolted down with arms restrained,
My body has been deeply stained,
I seem to have lost all control,
The cells within tumbling like Alice down the rabbit hole,
Vitamins and chemicals have been given a boost,
While the intruder has been loosed,
The voice has become rough and coarse,
As if the box was trampled by a horse,
All the muscles are completely weak,
Every moment seeming so bleak,
I feel as if I might fall,
I have no strength to move at all,
I need to mount a bolstered attack,
But how can I when I can barely get off my back,
Fluids...

When You're Gone
You've been away,
For many a day,
The universe feels out of sway,
The inner soul is in decay.
I can't describe how I feel,
In only words that don't express what's real,
The expressionism forced closed by a dreaded seal,
The heart within is cold as steel.
Buried in the ground like an earthen sea,
Bound around as if by roots of a tree,
There seems no way to break free,
This is what your absence does to me.
From over the mountain the sea of glass,
An emotional downfall is coming to pass,
I want to cry out but alas,
I have...
