Tugging At My Roots
Pine cones and pecans,
Dime bags and dollar bills
The smell of cigarettes and coffee,
Perfume and pussy,
Despair and denial
Always awake, always aware.
All of my senses tingling.
Trailer parks and parking lots,
Trading pipe for pipe.
Lessons Learned, you taught me well
How to love?
No.., how to leave.
To escape, to run, to block
To be numb.
Your sickness flows through my veins.
Bloodletting.
Drain you from me.
Leave me again,
It's what you do best.
