Out Goes My Heart
I didn’t cry
But
I couldn’t pry myself
Out of bed this morning
Late to work
Etc.
Because last night
This special female
I thought I finally found
Torn my heart out
But politely said
I want to go back home
To my man
I thought
Was her ex
But now I see
I definitely
Read her wrong
She….
I wouldn’t say used
But
She disguised herself
As the one for me
A great listener
A mental coach
Now I see
A pro mental gamer
Playing tricks with men minds
Had me...
But
I couldn’t pry myself

Never Surrendering to the Hardships I Face
Disconnect notice
Hanging in the door
Using flashlights
To walk through my house
Yes
I’ve experienced this before
So cold
Using sleeping bags
Covered with a blanket
Laying in a cold bed
Shivering myself to sleep
Hoping to wake up
From a bad dream
The ups and downs
I’m not ashamed to say
Many nights
I have cried
Alone
From that mental pain
Why me
While others
Look upon me
Saying
They wish
They were in my shoes
But not knowing
What I been through ...

Love
Is so beautiful
To feel
But even
To see

Watching it
From my point of view

Across this elegant room
I’m seated
By myself
At a table for two
Surrounded by couples
Sitting
At the same type of table
Too
But mine’s
Without the rose
Signifying the love
Between the two
But someday
Soon
I’ll have my love
Sitting at that table
Across from me
Too
But this night
I sip on a glass of coke
And observe the room
A mix of color ...
Is so beautiful
To feel
But even
To see
Love
Watching it

The time has come
When others

Once my dad’s ashes
Returns to me
But I seem
To have no feeling
At all
I just see a box
With his name

There’s a box inside
Containing his ashes
But that’s not enough
For me to close
This chapter

He’s been apart of my life

My Blue Jeep
Frigid air
A morning start
In my blue Jeep
With little
Or no heat
Driver's gloves
Bundled up
My only warmth
Is my internal heat
Driving
Sunlight blinding me
Sun visors
No need
Because
I'm still blind
And every bump
Feels the same
As a car wreck
Every sound
Is very clear
When it's cold
Very thin air
Summer come
Please do
My blue Jeep
Is my favorite too
Off-roading
Flinging up mud
With the top off
Bathing in
The Summer sun
But for now ...
A morning start
In my blue Jeep
With little
Or no heat
Driver's gloves

I marvel at
The length of time
They stayed together
Unheard of
In this day and era
But when I
Look into your eyes
The want
The need for

To grow old
TOGETHER
Is swirling in my mind
For the first time
I found
Someone
I want to spend this second
Minute
Many years to come
FOREVER
Molded in your arms
In your presence
Just being called
Your future
Is all I want
As the years ...

I drive
Drive to smile
Hands on that wheel
Shifting gears
In that C50
Chevy sixty nine
My father and I
Built
And restored
Together
Father and son
Project
From the start
Working
And creating memories
That will last forever
While I drive
Occasionally
Looking to my right
Imagining him
Sitting there
Next to me
Enjoying this
Old truck
Together
We made run
A whole lot better
Than before
We ever laid hands
On it
Never Give Up

Though I walk through the valley
Of the shadow of death
I will fear no evil
But when I walk into
My father's bedroom
I feel remorse
Time stops
As my eye's focus
When I turn on the lights
Look around
His name, certificates
Pictures of him
Adorned his walls
Emotions
Slowly overtake
Pulling me down
On my knees'
I lay my head
On his bed
My eyes
They weep
To me
Time stands still
When I mourn
For him
I searched
I seek
Desperately
For a sign from him ...
