Somedays I am weak willed
Barely able to get out of bed.
Somedays I feel trapped in my own psyche
A captive of my menacing thoughts.
Somedays I can barely breathe
On these days I use funny memes as chest compressions keeping me alive.
Somedays my outside looks how I feel inside
Hair messy & teeth unbrushed reflect my true feelings.
Will today be the day I end my suffering & put the broken pieces of myself back together?

The death was sweet,
That voice in my head no longer speaks
I clasped my hands together firmly,
While on my knees I lied to God
Promising the end to my delusions of grandeur felt so odd
Forever controlling my every move,
I killed my ego all for you

I’ve made peace with my pain,
It’s yours that I’m curious about.
How many times did you die,
From old wounds never healed?
We bled each other dry,
Yet I crawled away & filled those gashes with another woman’s ambitions.
Dreams not quite my own,
Whos flesh have I adorned today?
I change masks like the leaves turn colors in the fall - effortlessly
Masks hand carved by yours truly based off of your perception of me
But I’ve made peace with my pain,

I’ve never felt this uneasy before.
Uncertainty.
Anxiety clawing from the inside of my throat while my pride forces my lips closed.
Coward. Scared to face the truth. Tiptoeing around obvious land mines of countless questions in your relationship.
Have you made the wrong decision? Are you fighting for something that you killed years ago?
What’s the use of becoming a better person to love this lifeless carcass of a union?
Lying next to your sins each night. Kissing a ghost goodbye every morning. She’s not here anymore.
