Irony
There is such an irony in death
You can only then
Achieve full admiration of those you've strived to please
Everyone paints you with their pretty words
A mosaic for the spectators ears
No one speaks about the bad or the ugly in a person
Those are kept unspoken after death
For once, even after life
You are loved and accepted
Understood
If I leave this place,
If I leave you alone on this earth
What would you have to say in my honor
Would you dress me up
Like a decorated hero
Tell everyone how I saved the world ...

The Monster at Night
It comes only at night,
When you're alone and vulnerable.
It's dressed as every dark and ugly thing
You've ever done or thought or feared
It follows where ever you go,
Menacingly lurking in the shadows.
It has no name and no face
But it doesn't need one
The terror in implores is grave enough without
But I feel a presence so sinister
The devil calls it Master
It hovers above your bed screaming
Till your ears are bleeding and you feel
Like there's no breath left in your lungs
Come with me, you don't belong here
You will...

Glass
When aching bones set
And time has run out
And weary hearts rest
There is only one way down
That's where you'll find him
I tried to save him
The sound is ringing
In his head
The years of wishing
And all his regret
A man with no home
His arms are bare
A heart so long gone
And no one to care
That's where you'll find him
No one can save him
He's pledged alliance to loneliness
His only friend now is made of glass
He's broken hearts for this
But his troubles won't pass
High on his choices ...
And time has run out
And weary hearts rest
There is only one way down
That's where you'll find him
I tried to save him

Galaxies
All of the stars have fallen from heaven
All of their beauty and splendor stolen
But all is not lost
They are home now with the boy I love
His eyes radiate their light
They are the only sanctity I know
The galaxies have never seemed so unimpressive and insignificant
Vast oceans are now dewdrops at dawn
Together time is ecstasy
Call it infatuation
Love
Obsession
Desperation
Everything else is minute in comparison
This is the greatest thing that will or has ever existed

Daydreams
I am comprised of sorrow and guilt
I am all the things that are enough
To drive a soul insane
My bones are filled with worries
My eyes deep with regret
And my thoughts have always
Fancied the notion of death
Cold shoulders tell a tale
Of lies and a broken heart
Hiding in my daydreams
I hope one day I see your face again
I'd hold your weary hands
Kiss your darkest scars
And ask you if it's better
Wherever you are
I am all the things that are enough

He Loves Me I swear
Daddy I swear that I love him I do,
He’s handsome and charming
And crazy like you
He likes drugs too though
And we always fight
I scream and I cry
Then he leaves for the night
It’s madness a circle that just goes around
I throw my whole hand in
But he just lets me down
But if I can save him then maybe I’ll sleep
Knowing you weren’t just a lost ship at sea
I’m good now daddy I don’t get high nomore
But that man that I’m married to
He’s a fiend to the score
He’s kind and I love when he laughs and it’s real ...

If I could sit a few hours
And get lost in all of the ways
I've changed since you said hello
How loving you has been
The hardest thing in my whole life
I might be able to find the light
But your smile melts me
Like my soul is flying
Too close to the sun

I promise to always see the good in your soul
Even if darkness creeps in on us
I promise to hold you hand as tight and I hold your heart

Have you ever been in love
So madly and desperately
In love
That it grips onto your soul
Squeezing tighter like a serpent
Until you're suffocating
On the verge of certain death
And all you can do
Is beg for more
It consumes your every thought
Controls your every action
Destroys your hopes and dreams
It becomes your everything
It becomes your obsession
It becomes you
A love so deep
No one but you could ever understand
You know life is nothing
With or without this love

I am the prodigy of a
Mentally deranged
Schizophrenic psychopath
I am the golden plaque on the wall
Of his world
On display for everyone to judge
He has rested his demons
Upon my shoulders like a great sword
See the beautiful insanity he has

Like a priceless work of art
I am genetically inclined to self destruct
To turn everything I touch to ash
Sit idly by and snicker as it does so

Sunflowers and Small Talk
I miss you today
Not that I don't every other day
It's just that some are easier
To disregard my feelings about you
Much like I did
When you were alive
It's times like this
These painfully tough moments
The anger billows in my chest
Smoke seeping out of the cracks
In the wall I built between us
How could I have hated you
When I am everything you are
A mirrored image haunts me
I told myself we were better
Far apart
But I couldn't look in your eyes
And not feel the fear
Of what I was bound to become...
Not that I don't every other day

You Taste Like Home
You taste like home
With a touch of sadness
Brutal honesty and acceptance
Because everything is not always
Brilliant and kind
Your arms are my sanctuary
Where I lay my weary heart
When I can no longer breathe
You kiss life back into my lungs
I have brought you all of my burdens
And you wear them like a scarf
A miraculous display
Of how you take the pain away
And make it all your own
I sometimes forget
You carry your own sorrows
Ones that make mine glitter and gold
I wish I could dance in your darkness ...
